will be best to get. The one coming out soon, or the one to be released in Nov. that has extra footage and stuff. We all loved this movie here and can't wait.

Well, I preordered the one coming out next week (I didn't know about the other).
My son (adult) wants to wait for the later release with more things on it.....
so, I guess I didn't help. I will have access to both :D

I would wait and borrow or rent the first one to hold you off :D

The special edition DVD that will be released second contains 30 minutes of extra (and unrated) footage. I am afraid that the extra footage might not be appropriate for my 12yo DD, so I guess we'll probably end up with the theatrical release version.

We are definately waiting for the one in Nov. It is supposed to have all sorts of goodies including a directors cut over four hours long! My husband really loves the Tolkien books so I think it will be worth the wait!

Well, I WAS going to wait for the November one, but my hubby ordered the August one online for my birthday next week. I'll just wait until an auspicious moment in October and say, well....what do you know they have another coming out....with MORE footage.:) And, of course my 8 year old will back me up!:) He loved it as well.

P.S. I'll just give the first one to the 8 yr old.:)

I'm waiting for the collector's edition in November. I found that I should wait a bit for releases like this (i.e. Mummy was released and then re-released as a 2 disc set). I can't stand when they do this, becuase I wanna buy the most complete version with all that extra stuff!!

I'm a big Lord of the Rings nerd. I am buying both of them. The one coming out next week has an extra CD of behind the scenes stuff that won't be included in the extended version that is coming out in November. However, the November version will also have some different extra behind the scenes stuff, so I need that one too!

We were going to wait until Nov, until my husband made a good point. I

nstead of spending all of that money for each dvd, why not wait until the last one is released? I'm pretty sure there will be a special boxed set with all of the extra features
