We have a Garden view room booked for the Poly in June. The Poly thread lists the Samoa long-house as the most popular.

Any recommendations on which long-house to request and why you would request it?

This trip is for our 20th anniversary. If I put this along with my request is there a any chance of a room upgrade?

I still like Tahiti - the gardens are lovely.

think some of building closer to the lagoon are now standard also.

We love Samoa for the location. We thought it was very convenient to the GCH, the volcano pool, the beach, and Captain Cooks :).

I always ask request a Tokelau room facing the quite pool - they are considered garden view

Tokelau is always my top recommendation. It is one of the newest buildings meaning it has balconies on the 2nd floor which Samao does not have. Also it has the largest rooms, 476 sq ft vs 415 sq ft in the older buildings and Samoa is one of those older ones at 425 sq ft.

Tokelau is more centrally located than Tahiti, though any building is only 3-5 min from the main Great Ceremonial House. But the difference does in views. The Tahiti garden view only look into the trees while in Tokelau many rooms can get a glimpse of then lagoon by looking north from the balcony and all either have a view of the quiet pool or a more open view across grass than Tahiti.

So, on balance Tokelau provides the best garden view value.

I plan on staying at the Poly for the first time in the Fall, after much research on the various Longhouses I have decided to request Fiji. The entire Longhouse consists of Standard/Garden View Rooms. One side you have beautiful views of the Marina and Volcano and on the other side Luau Cove Beach/ GF and Wedding Pavillian. Short walk to GCH and Pool. Only drawback far from TTC.

We love Tokelau!

We've always gotten a full balcony. And it's a very short walk to the TTC, so those late nights at Epcot end with an easy trip back to the room. Likewise, the walk to the MK monorail isn't a problem.

It IS a bit further from the Volcano pool. But that's OK-- that walk happens in mid afternoon, when everyone has lots of energy.

Enjoy your stay.. it's a gorgeous resort!!!!

Tahiti is what we request. All rooms have a balcony and it's on the beach. Also right beside the walkway to the Epcot monorail.

We have never received any kind of upgrade or pin code from the POLY I am afraid. The ONLY upgrade we have received from our trips to WDW was on our 30th anniversary at BWI.

We have stayed in both Samoa and Tokelau-both are great locations--convenient to the GCH and Tokelau is a little closer to the TTC and laundry (if you need to use it). Love the Poly, no matter which longhouse I'm in! :thumbsup2

I've been at Poly for at least three anniversaries and DD's high school graduation(just last year), and we've never been upgraded to a different view. But I guess you can always hope. The garden view rooms really are beautiful though. Even without the upgrade, I believe you'll love it! :)

We have stayed in Tokelau twice, and love it. Close to TTC, and this was our lovely standard/garden view room #2912 view

How many floors are in the long houses? Are there elevators in the long houses?

Thanks!:yay:

I would go to TikiMan's site to check out the Poly. He has great info on every house including walk times to different areas. Also the Poly is currently being refurbished! HE has a loose schedule on which house they will be working on during this year. For example, Hawaii in vacant right now for the construction. You might want to make sure you are far from a house under construction. We are going in July and are staying Hawaii. I love the Poly so enjoy!

Samoa 2nd floor pool view.

We stayed in a room on the second floor of the Samoa Longhouse facing the Volcano pool during our last trip. It was great and was close to everything. The only downside about the second floor, in the Samoa Longhouse, is that there are no balconies.

I love this question! We are staying at the poly for the first time in August and I'm torn between Samoa and Tokelau!
