Well, for me, I get very motion sick, but it's easy to control with medication (either OTC or prescribed) and we love everything a cruise has to offer. The first thing, for us, is that we can go to multiple destinations and have all different types of adventures. We like busy and active vacations with a lot of variety and a cruise is exactly the type of vacation that provides that. Logistically, setting up a vacation like the one we had in Alaska on our cruise would be very time consuming and difficult with a lot of unpacking/packing.
I completely agree. Trying to find things that amuse a multi-generational family, some with mobility-issues, would be so hard in another sort of vacation. Besides I HATE changing hotels!! I'm also the type who gets motion sick at the drop of a hat. I used to take Dramamine, which was a terrible compromise for me: it Always made me continuously, mildly sick so that I would not get violently ill. We're talking leaning over the back of a small boat, wishing-I-could-die-but-knowing-that-sea-sickness-doesn't-kill-people ill.
Consider talking to a doctor about Bonine -- they can sometimes prescribe different doses. It is a life changer!! I survived a coast-to-coast Amtrak trip without issue. After that, I'm thinking a cruise will be cake

P.S. My TA insists that the Med is like cruising in a giant bathtub.
