So my husband and I have been going back and forth trying to decide which of the fashion no nos is worse.

I happen to be of the opinion that while tacky and touristy Fanny Packs at least hold a purpose and may even consider using one on our trip in October.

DH on the other hand scoffs at the idea of a fanny pack but sees nothing wrong with wearing socks with his flip flops and can't understand why it's such a no no.

Which is worse in your books and why. (I'm secretly hoping to get some more ammunition for the next time this discussion breaks out!:lmao:)

I'm not going to help your discussion at all, but I will give my views.

I can't stand either - for me, that is. Just not my style lol. BUT, with that said, I can't say it bothers me one iota what others wear or how they wear it as long as it's not inappropriate and they are comfortable.

My SO likes a fanny pack. He HATES Crocs. I have about 8 pairs of Mary Jane style crocs and live in them at WDW. So I guess I am not in a position to judge either :lmao:

I've worn many a fanny pack over my years, not a fashion statement but it kept my hands empty, now I find it easier to wear a small back pack when I go places such as Disney.

Socks with flip flops - can't understand it, it would drive me crazy to have socks between my toes, thus why I am happy that I have no desire to wear toe socks. But I will say I wear socks with my Keen sandals or crocs, simply because my feet are to sensitive that I couldn't wear them otherwise. Am I a fashion statement - NO, but am I comfortable - Yes! Do I care what others think........not one iota, I am at Disney to enjoy myself not worry about what others think of me. I am sure that there are people that don't understand why a Pooh sized adult would want to ride Dumbo either but I have an awesome time doing it

Both serve a purpose--fanny packs to keep your stuff safe and accessable, and socks with flip flops to give people a giggle. It is even better when they are wearing those sock garters to hole them up!

Socks and sandals make me cringe. :crazy2:

I would still be wearing a fanny pack myself but my girlfriends but their foot down and refuse to be seen in public with me wearing one. :rotfl:

No competition; definitely socks and sandals especially on hairy legs:rotfl:

DH and I had a good laugh about that! What a pair we would make!:rotfl:

DH is the same way! It's what started the whole discussion to begin with.

Fanny packs/bum bags are on the lower end of the list but they're tolerable.

Socks and flip flops? I would hope that someone would shoot me and put me out of my apparant misery should I ever.... EVER.... even consider wearing that combo! :lmao:

I don't mind Fanny Packs. I've grown up with my mom wearing one on almost all our trips to amusement parks. They do serve a purpose keeping your hands free while being able to carry some things around.

Socks and Flip Flops I never understood. Isn't the point of wearing flip flops that your feet aren't covered? Why then cover them with something?

I do not own flip flops so I can not say about them, but I do wear socks with sandals in the winter with pants never ever with shorts. Why, I like the feel of my sandals and do not want to spend the extra time putting on and tying regular shoes.

fanny/belly packs went out of style years/decades ago and I would never let anyone in my party wear one.

How about Crocs with socks.:lmao: Yes I've seen it. It was just wrong....

Between your two options, socks with sandals/flip flops is worse than a fanny pack/bum bag.

I can't stand flip flops, the bar in between your toes?? *shudders* I hate that feeling! I cannot imagine what it would be like with socks added to the equation! Fanny packs/bum bags aren't my thing either, we wear our Eastpack cross body bags and they do us just fine. I would have to side with the socks with flip flops or sandals being worse, simply because when I was 14 my dad made a point of wearing this combo the whole 3 weeks of our Disney holiday purely to embarrass me, which when I was 14, yes, this was the worst thing in my life and I stropped around in full teenage glory groaning and whining about it while my parents buckled over laughing at me. Still to this day when I see the combo I think back and although I do have a laugh about it, I still get a little flicker of that 14 year olds embarrassment :rotfl:

Now I simply couldn't care less! I'm all about the comfort and practicality, thats what its all about!! :goodvibes

Socks with sandals are more of a fashion faux pas in my opinion. I use a fanny pack, although I call it a belly bag and wear it in the front. I have a lot of upper back pain and the belly bag keeps any extra weight off my shoulders. Neither one is a fashion statement but at Disney I am all for comfort and not style. I can't even stand carrying around a 20 oz bottle of water for extended periods of time.

IMO socks with flipflops or sandals are the bigger no-no, but I'm afraid I've reached that age where I not longer care if I'm a Fashion Don't. I am a fanny pack user and have many unflattering Disney pics to prove it! Carrying weight over my shoulders is uncomfortable for me and I believe comfort trumps fashion every time. If you're a socks and sandals person you have my permission - encouragement even - to borrow my defense. :goodvibes

How about Crocs with socks.:lmao: Yes I've seen it. It was just wrong....

I actually put socks on with my Crocs when we fly because I don't like walking bare feet on the floors when we do security. I take a few pairs of cheap socks and throw them in the trash once they we are ready to put our shoes back on. Then I put another pair on for on the plane so I don't have to walk over the carpet where everyone else's bare feet have been. And I leave them in the trash bag on the plane before we get off. Then I'm sock free til I repeat the above on the trip home :rotfl2:
