Which is usually the hottest place in WDW?

What is usually the hottest place in WDW?

  • Magic Kingdom, it may be magical but its hot!

  • Epcot, you'd think with such a showcase of technology they could make it cooler!

  • MGM-Disney Studios, all of those stunts and pyrotechnics make it boiling!

  • Animal Kingdom, it IS supposed to be like steamy Africa after all!

  • Downtown Disney, because of crowds/no shade.

  • Other (please state)

  • Coronado Springs - It is the desert afterall!

Animal Kingdom by far is the hottest place EVER...but i hvae to say Magic Kingdoms Fantasy Land is pretty hot during mid-day...

This is so interesting to me. I can't believe AK is so overwhelmingly chosen as the hottest place. I haven't been there (yet!) but now I'm really glad we decided to visit there on the last day of our trip. We considered going the afternoon of our arrival, but now I know I made the right decision. If it's that hot and we went to AK first, I'd never get my DD to leave the hotel pool!!

Another vote for AK here... its just so humid. I feel disgusting by the time we leave and we usually go back for a rinse off and swim after we leave!

Since I leave year round in Florida, I am used to the heat. Anyone who visits WDW in the summer is going to melt if you are not used to the heat and humidity. AK has to be the hottest place; but if you plan on going when the park opens up, and plan on leaving by noon or one o'clock you can survive.

Hmmm, me and my father only really want to see a handful of attractions in the AK but my mother loves animals and will probably want to see the whole park.
I wonder if she would be happy with just seeing Kilimanjaro Safari, Expedition Everest, Dinosaur, and Festival Of The Lion King. :rotfl:

All this time I thoght I was just imagining that AK was hotter than anywhere else. :sunny:

Us too! We thought it was just the theming. Never knew it has to do with the vegetation and lack of air flow. Just goes to show you learn something knew on the DIS everyday! :thumbsup2

And the hottest place in AK (IMHO) is the wait line for It's Tough to be a Bug when you drop down below the point where a breeze at surface level can't reach you any longer.

AK is always the hottest park for us. I think it's because there are not as many indoor rides, buildings, etc.

Without a doubt it has been AK as others have stated. May, June, or Aug it was always so hot and no breezes to cool you off with. :sunny:

AK is soooooo hot for us, we normally do this park in several mornings rather than all day.

I am shocked that 21 people voted for something other than AK !!
I think they purposely made AK hotter!
and the walkways are SO NARROW..... OMG..... my 15 yo DD was about screaming "PERSONAL SPACE PEOPLE!!"
This year was worse than any other year ever!

I vote for the Studios, there is a lot of concrete and very little shade between the buildings. I would still take hot over cold any day.

I did not vote, because on our first trip we didn't go to AK, but WOW did we get HOT in MGM..no water around & all that concrete maybe?

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who thinks AK is just sweltering and hot!

I was so shocked when we went in December and it was cool, even a little chilly, even at AK. It just didn't seem right riding Kilomanjaro Safari and sitting upfron trying to warm our hands with the heater and purchasing sweatshirts.

We melted at MGM during the first Star Wars weekend this year, but AK still gets my vote.

Overall I too would say AK!! But, our hottest moment (May 21) was walking from our top row seats at LMA to Pizza Planet! OMG, I seriously thought we were all going to melt. We live in Houston, so we a used to the heat and humidity! We also had a "hot moment" in the WS going from England to France, but we cooled off while watching the movie in France. I too think it is the narrow walkways that make AK so hot and seem way more crowded than the park really is.

Another vote for Animal Kingdom - I feel like I can't breathe in there it's so hot :sunny:
