We are trying to plan a trip to Disney World for next year, without pulling the kids out of school. Which of these would you pick? I'm a little frightened of either, we have always gone in October when it is not so crowded.

IMHO, the end of March would have better weather... and (at least around here) more schools have Spring Break in April.

Either way will be busy... and crowds are a bit more comfortable when the weather is a bit cooler. (Therefore not quite as irriatable... or maybe it's me that's less irriatable... whatever.)

I took my DD for her 5th birthday in June! We usually go in the fall and are spoiled by the short lines. But we did enjoy the warm summer weather and loved spending time at SSR pool. Lines were not too long if you have a plan and use fast pass. Good luck choosing.

That is what I am thinking. We are going this fall, so this would be kind of a "bonus" trip. Maybe we could plan on spending more time by the pool and not try to do the parks all day. So then we would not be so disappointed, unless we have to beat up some pool-hoppers in order to get a chair! Just kidding (mostly!) :p

When is Easter? As I understand it, the whole spring break season is heavy on crowds but the week before Easter is the worst. So depending on when that holiday is, you might have less crowds than you think. That said, I think you should go when it suits you best as far as schedule and price. We went the week between Christmas and New Years (and that is a dreaded week) and with the longer hours, Tourguide Mike, and our knowledge of fastpass et. from our other WDW trips, I realized that we can handle anything at WDW and still have a great time! I now no longer worry so much about crowds and will just plan our future trips when we can go and be happy we are going at all. I'll bet you'll have fun either time you go!

Easter is early this year. Maybe April 2nd I think?

If I HAD to choose between those 2 weeks, I'd go with the March week.
It'll be crowded, but at least it won't be HOT and crowded!

Easter is April 8 next year. So we would be there the week before Easter.

Our Spring Break is mid-March. That's the thing about Spring Breaks - they are staggered. No way would I go Easter week, but the other weeks probably won't be any worse crowd-wise than summer. It is Peak season though, so the hotels are expensive.

We went the first week of August this year. Yes, it was HOT! But it was fun, we survived, and I would do it again if that was the only time we could go. It wasn't that crowded. The Unoffical Guide was predicting crowd levels of "9", but it was really about 7 or 8. We never waited more than about 20 minutes for anything, and we did Fast Pass if the waits were bad.

I'd go with Spring Break. We went in 2004 during the last week of May and it was really hot.

Summer is better.

I don't know about June (but I did stay at a Holiday Inn...sorry, couldn't resist :teeth: ) I went in 85, 90 and 93 all during the summer (July and August) and they were heavily crowded!

One of my co-workers does her family vacations when her kids are on their breaks. I assume a lot of parents do this. I'd watch it with Spring break, though. FL is one of the hot spots for the HS and college students.

I think that would depend on your tollerance for Humidity. Florida is terribly humid during the summer. I come from the dry west so this would kill me and I would not be able to enjoy a single minute, WDW or no WDW. I believe March and April have better weather humidity wise.

Limited to those two options, I'd go during Spring Break. Otherwise, I would suggest during October and 2 weeks prior to Christmas in December. I went during the December time period last year, and we walked on to almost every ride we rode. It was an awesome trip.

Working at Disney-MGM Studios, I'd never seen the parks as busy as they were during Spring Break/Easter. I've never been there in June.

We all know that WDW is packed during the summer, but according to UG, early June isn't that bad.

Since I haven't experienced WDW at June myself, I voted for Spring Break. I'm very sensitive to heat, so the cooler weather swayed me.

But that's just what I would do. If you think you can handle the heat of June, it may be easier to handle the parks then - especially if you have a good touring plan.

Man, you guys are really scaring me  !!!! We usually go in May, but my DS is in 2nd grade and I don't want to continue to pull him out of school for our 12-13 day trips. We decided on the week before Easter this year. I've been to Dis more than once in the summer and although it's hot, Disney does a pretty good job (I feel) of crowd control and keeping down the lines as much as possible. At least in April it won't be so hot!!! I'm going to have to do some serious trip planning for this one :surfweb: ......

All that being said, a little pixie dust pixiedust: goes a long way!!! No matter how crowded, it's still Disney!!!! :goodvibes
