I have been to WDW many many times and have stayed at most of the resrts but I have always had a difficult time booking a room at the Contemporary. I have stayed there many times but it seems to be a real chore getting a room whether I am using a travel agent or doing it myself.
Maybe I am trying at the wrong time of year or maybe I'm cursed. Oh well, I have the opposite luck booking the Poly, which is OK by me.

Hi there,
Mom and i are going to the world on Nov 26th to Dec 6th, well we had the hardest time booking the Beach Club.

We finally got it but not after calling just about daily to see if there were any rooms open!

My thought is the time we are going, the day after thanksgiving.

people tell me the contemporary tower section can be the toughest reservation at a discount

Just a general comment about YC, BC, and BW room availability. In conference season when the Dolphin and Swan sell out these become the overflow resorts. It happens more than you think. Seen alot of conventioneers with their inconspicuous 6 x 8 namebadges walking
around the 3 above mentioned resorts while conventioning at S/D.

Beach & Yacht Club during the warm months always seems to be the most difficult. SAB is awesome.

I think it is the Poly. This past May it was totally booked as was last October. No rooms could be had even at rack rate. They also offer less rooms on discount here as there is such a big calling for the Poly.

WL during December. Tried many times but nothing using any code other than suites.

I've found the BC and YC hardest to book , esp with a discount. I've been offered the Poly, Cont wing and Tower, GF, WL, AKL almost every time (although if don't take it and try to change 2 days later the Cont Tower and GF are always gone!).

Surprising for me, I used to find it impossible to book any All-Star. One time I had my All-Star Music reservation cancelled since I did not meet some "Three-night minimum stay" requirement. Also, on my first few trips when I used a travel agent, I would always request the All-Stars, but it seemed that all All-Stars were never available, no matter how far in advance I called. :(

To this day after 14 Disney trips, I have yet to ever stay or visit an All-Star!!

Just curious, what's the significance of the 14th floor??

there's only 16 rooms/suites.

Plus, it is one of the BEST concierges on property.::yes::

I have no problem with the above mentioned, I had the hardest time getting the WL with a discount.......I guess it depends on the time of year your going. YC area is where I stay "more" or my fav.

I agree with Bambi. The view alone is worth every penny. ::yes::

WL can also be tough to get for certain dates.

ALK and Poly always seem to have rooms. Everytime I look to see if a short notice trip is possible, everything is gone except AKL and the Poly.

Any DVC property can be a pain to book because most rooms are held for members. I now just rent points!:teeth:

All the AS resorts are heavily promoted by WDW to groups such as cheerleaders, dance & host of others. They totally block-out AS resorts. Especially true in Jan-Feb; May; June-July. If you could get a room there, you really don't want to be there with these groups! Mercantile, buses, food-courts about impossible.
