Hi everyone!
We'll be visiting WDW in April. There will be between 11 and 15 of us for a very small family reunion. Some of us will be staying at the Vistana resorts and the others at Westgate. We'd like to try some of the dinner shows like, Arabian Knights, Pirates Adventure, Capones, etc. Whenever we've been to Orlando we've never tried any of them. Can you please give me your opinions on which is the best and how far in advance do we need to make the reservations? I've noticed at several sites you need to purchase tickets, do we need to make reservations also or is the date specified on the tickets? I'm a little confused about this. Thanks for the help!!

as we are interested in doing this also. Could the people who post write a little about the show they've seen, what's it about, why they like it etc.
Thanks Jenn

PS A couple of years ago we went to the Hoop Dee Doo show at Disney. Lots of cornball singing and western style entertainement and pretty good food. My daughter who was then 7 loved it and it was a highlight of her week. I think this year she a little too old- and - we'd like to try something different.

We're going in mid-February and decided to do Medievel Times after reading reviews on this board. I did a search for past threads on Medievel Times and Arabian Nights. Most people seemed NOT to like Arabian Nights.

DD just got done reading King Arthur for school and is really into Lord of the Rings. Of course, DS is all-boy and can't wait for the sword fights and jousting.

Thanks everyone for your help! Any other posts about dinner shows would be great. Connie :p

We've been to Arabian Nights (free tickets came with our deal). I thought it was worth seeing once. The story is a bit lame, but quite entertaining, the costumes good, set pieces good. The horses wonderful. Food (advertised as prime rib dinner), terrible. Limp salad to start with, prime rib and veggies awful. Dessert was cake. After the performance some of the riders and horses come back into the arena and to the side so you can see/photo them close up and get to pet the horses if that's what you're into. Nice for the children.

Also watch out for tickets telling you the time to arrive for - they get you there far too early and queue you up to have your picture taken - you swear you won't buy, but usually end up buying. They have them developed by half way through the show and your server brings them to your table. They also get you there early so you can buy drinks and be tempted into buying the tacky souvenirs.

I've heard from other threads on the board though, that Medieval Times seems to be the best of the shows, though I've not seen it.

Hope this helps.

Ann.

Thanks Ann for the reply. I think we will go to Medievil Times. I was looking at the other threads also and alot of people don't care for Arabian Nights. Thanks again! Connie

We are going in a little over 2 weeks. We are going to check out the magic show at Wonderworks. DH and DS watch every magic special they can get their hands on. The meal offerings aren't as nice as some of the other shows. However, to reflect that it does cost less.
Also, if you decide not to order your tickets ahead of time. The go2orlando.com site has coupons for significant savings on most of the dinner shows.

Thank you too Kilee! Thanks for the info. Let us know how the show was. Have a great time on your trip!! Connie

I have seen the magic show at wonder works. It was really funny and the magic was pretty good. It was good clean fun...I took the kids from church. The pizza was nothing special, but it was a great price for our large group.

Here is the order of how we rated them.

1-Medieval Times
2-Pirate's Dinner Adventure
3-Arabian Knights

I probably would not go back to Arabian Knights. I was kind of bored. My husband loved the black stallion though. Pirate's was loud and fun. The pirate's partied with everyone before the show. I would see this one again. Medieval Times was awesome. Knights, Stallions, sword fights, hawks. I could see this one every year.

We are going in just over 2 weeks also. My DD loves anything Magic. Can you elaborate more on this show? Times, price, etc? I'm assuming from the posts that they serve pizza? Any info would be great...

Thanks
Jenn

The info that I have on the wonderworks magic show is as follows: They have 2 90 minute shows nightly. They are 6pm & 8pm. They serve pizza, pop, beer and wine. I believe I had read popcorn too and just didn't write it down. The cost for the show is adults $17.95 and children $14.95. They also had packages were for a couple dollars more you could go through the museum (it's supposed to be really interactive), and for even a little more you could do the show, go throught the museum, and play lazer tag. I don't have the prices for the add on's.
Also, there are coupons all over the web for this show. They are $1.50 off admission for up to 6 people per coupon. I got mine at http://www.wonderworksonline.com/couponnow.html

We have gone to the Medival Times Dinner show twice.
It is so much fun.
The food is pretty good, But be warned, they don't give you any silverware. You have to eat with your hands.
I think if you are willing to get into it your family could have a ball.
You have to cheer your Knight on to win, and you wear crowns to show which Knight you are cheering for. (all the same color crowns sit together!)
If you get there early there is a medival village that you can walk through. It might be boring for little kids, but it's very interesting.
Plus if it's your birthday, you get in free!!!
(make sure to bring ID to prove it!!!)
We brought our friend there for dinner on his 20th B-day, and he left his wallet at the hotel room... He figured he wasn't driving, and couldn't drink anyway.... His wife just about killed him!!
