I am hoping to hear from Thanksgiving Week veterans.........
If given the opportunity to spend the entire day at MK would you choose Sunday with EE, Monday or Tuesday.............remember that this is Thanksgiving Week.

I am asking because in the past 5 years we have attended MK on the Sunday before Thanksgiving and it gets pretty crowded by the afternoon. This year we are thinking about trying it on Monday or Tuesday to see if the crowds are a little lighter. Any thoughts????

Based on UoG to WDW:
11/22 - Best EC, worst AK. Crowd condition: 3 (Light)
11/23 - Best AK, worst MGM. Crowd condition: 3 (Light)
11/24 - Best MK, worst EC. Crowd condition: 5 (Busy. Crowds affect major attractions)

Based on prior experience, the earlier in the week the better...

We are going to split MK into 2 half days this trip. Saturday PM and Tuesday AM.

I agree, the earlier in the week the better. I would also take advantage of the Extra Magic Hour when it is offered. If the park starts to get crowded leave and come back another day.

When we were there for Thanksgiving they offered an E-Ride night for MK. If you are looking for a good time to go to MK during Thanksgiving week, that would be a great time. I would definately look into if it is going to be offered. With that week being a popular week there would be a demand for an E-Ride night.

Sunday is Magic Kingdoms Extra Magic Hour ( EE) day. Thats probably why its getting really crowded there by Sunday afternoon. If you are looking to avoid Magic Kingdom crowds, dont go during the week on the day they are showing Spectromagic. We went on a Tuesday in January to see Spectro, since we avoided MK over Martin Luther King weekend, and it was pretty crowded!! Id pick Monday if you have to choose between those 3 days and Spectro is on a Tuesday!

We have early PS @CP for breakfast on 11/22 and will spend that day @MK. We'll go back later in the week if we feel the need but will avoid MK at all costs on Thanksgiving day. Made that mistake one year and nearly lost a limb in the mass crowds. We also ran into very heavy crowds @MGM one year on Thanksgiving day---took nearly an hour to get through security and into the park. It's going to be somewhat crowded everywhere. We just use FastPass and go with the flow. Everyone have a wonderful trip! Only 24 more days until my vacation starts!!!

Based on prior Thanksgiving Week experience, I too am hoping for an E-Ride Night. To that end, I sent an email to Guest Relations asking them if an E-Ride Night would be offered Thanksgiving Week. Therir response was that no E-Ride Nights were scheduled for the rest of the year.

With that said, I hope that they change their minds or that the CM was mis-informed. Both have happened before... I've also been there when they decided to extend park hours during Thanksgiving Week due to the number of guests.

To Mickey0216,
what is VoG to WDW ?

To All going this coming Thanksgiving week,
I would love to hear your impressions of the crowd levels the Saturday thru Wednesday BEFORE Thanksgiving Day.

Thanks and have a wonderful trip !

Zurgerific - UoG to WDW = Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World.

IMHO: It is the most useful resource for non-biased information about WDW.

If the DW allows me time while at WDW I will post my opinion about the size of the crowds.

Thanks for the kind wishes!

thanks mickey0216 !
i'll check my local bookstore.
and for your sake, i hope there are minimal crowds when you go.
say, does anyone have input on how crowded the 3rd full week of april might be (would it say in the UoG to WDW, mickey0216?)

Zurgerific - Thanks. With the exception of Thanksgiving Day we should be in good shape. Huge crowds in June when it is very hot make other guests cranky. Then they do stupid crap, which then frustrates me... In regards to will the UoG 2005 listing the crowd levels for your trip, I believe that everyday is listed.

Note: This is the 1st trip that we did not buy the UoG. Too little time between when the DW decided I needed a vacation, and when we are going. An acquaintance provided me with the crowd levels for my trip.

Not sure it's really going to make much of a difference this year. Spectro is every night and MK is open until midnight.

I'm a little scared at what this may mean they expect the crowds to be.
