BCV or BWV? We'll be vacationing June 3-June 7 in a 2 bedroom. Currently we're booked at OKW with a waitlist for BWV (which is available on the 5th & 6th) We're taking our 2 kids (12 &13) and their 2 friends and they really want to stay at BCV (which is available only on the 6th).

This is my first ressie and my first time on the waitlist. So I'm not really sure what my chances are and what the best strategy would be. Not to mention my dates fall during the last days of Flower & Garden, Gay Days and I think one of the Star Wars Weekends.

I had my first wait list experience last month, and all 4 came through including 2 waitlists during President's week. My waitlist advice would be:
1. Give multiple sites (ex. BWV AND BCV) for the all of the nights if either resort would be OK. Although 6/5 is open today, it probably won't be tomorrow, so you have to hope someone cancels (or gets a different waitlist request) for all of those specific nights.
2. If you don't mind moving (there are many threads on these boards with the pros and cons of splitting stays), you can waitlist the first 2 nights and the last 2 nights separately with multiple requests for each. Disney will transfer your bags. (You could even move your own bags quickly from BCV to BWV). For example, if BCV opens up for 2 nights, you could stay there for 2 nights and then elsewhere for 2 nights and still have legal access to SAB for 3 days of your stay.

Good luck.

I always thought that the BWV would be an easier wait list because of it's size compared to the BCV. But my experience from last New Year's tells me it's the luck of the draw.

We had three reservations for friends and family at SSR. We were staying at the BWV. We waitlisted all three for the BCV and BWV. All three came through (one at a time) for the BCV. Two were three night stays and one was a six night stay. I'm still amazed we got them all.

I have waitlisted every trip so far and all have gone through.

Make sure you do an automatic transfer, not where they call you to see if you want them to do the transfer.

The first was for my sister. Got SSR for her one night, waitlisted for BCV or BWV. BWV came through the very next day!

Decided to add a second night to her stay...same thing, only SSR. Figured she would just have to move. Again, waitlisted for BWV only. It came through about a week later. This was for December 18 and 19. Waitlisting went on in early November.

Then our trip, December 22-26th at VWL. We had a Studio far in advance, but not the 11 month window, then waitlisted for a one bedroom in November after we added on. It too came through about a week later.

Then our Jan. 27-29th trip. Only SSR available. Waitlisted this as well, for BWV and BCV. Never heard from them, but I CALLED THEM on the 25th and woohoo, BWV was open, so they switched us over.

BWV will be easier than BCV due to sheer numbers. But no reason you can't do both. Do you have enough points to hold 2 o 3 days at BWV/BCV while still holding the OWK reservation? If not, you'll have to hope that all the days come in at once as they won't hold them for you and if they get part of your days they will give them to someone else. There are many ways to manipulate the wait list legally if you have enough points and know how.

Unfortunately not.

I was going to cancel OKW all together and reserve the available night at BCV and then waitlisting for the other 3 nights but MS talked me out of it. She said it if two nights were available then my chances of the waitlist coming through were good but since only one night is available the odds aren't in my favor.

Then just wait list for everything you consider better than what you have and hope for the best.
