Which is Disneyland Paris' best character or show meal???

Hey all. In September I'm taking hubby on his first ever Disney trip. We will have a 6 month old as I'm expecting in February 2015 :ccat:
We'll also have my 10 year old daughter who'll be on her 6th Disney Trip and my son who will be 9 and on his 5th Disney Trip. I've taken the kids to some awesome character meals in the past. Including Ariels Grotto, Goofys Kitchen, Woodys Roundup BBQ and breakfast with Minnie at the Plaza inn all in Disneyland. They've also been to Disneyland Hong Kong's Enchanted Garden Restaurant. I've also been blessed to do a handful in WDW myself.

For some strange reason we've NEVER done any of the special themed or character meals in Disneyland Paris despite this being my 7th trip there, my daughters 3rd and sons 2nd. I think it's probably the budget cause when we've been as a family to Paris I'm always paying heaps for flights from oz and spending money for 6 weeks on average in UK as I visit my family in UK every few years if I can. So the budget is always blown out of the window with thousands of $$$ on flights before any other plans.

So this trip I have 9.5 months left to save as hard as possible and do some of these extras at Disneyland Paris.

What do u recommend???

DH has never been and our 1st day in DL is his 34th Birthday so I want to book somewhere special he will enjoy as well as the kids. I was thinking Buffalo Bills Wild West Show. Though I've told DH about the Blue Lagoon (I've never eaten inside any of the POTC restaurants) he is very keen to go there.

DD wants to do Auberge De Cendrillon 2. I'd like to for the mice not so much the princesses. I get a lot more excited to meet the costumed characters rather than the face ones.

DS wants to do Rainforest Cafe again- though we have done this a few times before.

I'd really like to try Inventions in the Disneyland Hotel. I've never been inside the DL Hotel and would like to finally check it out. Does anyone know which characters visit Inventions.

Sorry for 20 million questions but I have no clue about these in DLP. I've already booked and paid for 4 nights in the Cheyenne Hotel. When can meals be booked and how much would we expect to pay? Is there any offers if you book multiple 'special meals'?

Thanks guys you are awesome for helping :)

I can't really help with character meals, but I can tell you that restaurant reservations can be made from 60 days in advance via the reservation telephone line. Also, have a look at dlpguide.com for price ideas. They will probably go up a bit next year, and not all menus are 100% up to date, but it gives you quite a good idea. Hopefully someone will be along soon to advise on character dining :)

Personally I would say the best character meal is Inventions, we eat there most trips. Each time we have eaten there we have seen different characters, we usually see at least 2 or 3 of the more well known characters (Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald Duck etc) plus a few lesser known characters.

We also enjoy eating in Blue Lagoon, especially if you get a table close to the edge of the water. We prefer the theaming in here over Blue Bayou at DL as it is located down a passage way further into the ride so we find the theaming better.

For another nice meal we also enjoy Walts; both for the food and theaming.

Another great restaurant for theaming which you children might also like is the new Bistro Chez Remy in the Studios park. We enjoyed our meal there and there is definately lots of details to look at inside.

I have had a few charcater meals in the past (even in places that don't host them anymore) but i agree Investions was the best ever, it was my 50th celebration and i did enjoy every moment of it even if you know its's pretty pricey ...
Tigger brought me the cake and we danced as the cast (and everyone else in the room) sang happy birthday

This year we are having Inventions again (it will just be me and my mum) but for the sunday brunch, you can *guess* who will be there according to the theme, it costs around 60 euros plus drink for an adult i dont know for kids...

Gosh look at this photo i am so different now lol

The kids would probably love cafe Mickey....lovely atmosphere with lots of characters but I am not a big fan of the food. Inventions is fantastic, again great atmosphere with lots of characters but the food in my opinion is far superior. The location of inventions inside the DLH makes it a fantastic choice.... No waiting around in the cold, you can explore the hotel maybe have a drink in cafe fantasia too ;-) we also like the buffalo bill show, the food is fun cowboy cookout style and the show entertaining for kids. Enjoy whatever you decide :-D

Thanks heaps for the info. I can't believe I'd never even heard of Inventions or Walts until last week.

I'll have to research Walts a bit more. What's the theming like in there???

I think that Blue lagoon may be the way to go for DHs birthday meal, then we can stay and watch dreams afterwards. I'm so excited he's going to love Disneyland (I hope)

Any tips on best place for a male mid 30's to eat on his birthday???

Oh I love your 50th birthday shot. What a great treat for your birthday.

In 2009 I took my kids Nanna & my 2 kids to Disneyland CA for my 30th. There was an offer with Qantas that year that kids flew free so I think it was cheaper than having a big party :)

Here's hoping I can spend the day in a Disney park somewhere for my 40th :)

Thanks I'd really like to try both Buffalo Bills and Inventions. But I'm not tipping looking at prices that I'm going to manage all of them into the one trip. So I think I'm going to have to choose 2 more expensive ones and possibly do cafe Mickey for pizza and share if characters come at lunch time?

Has anyone tried Cafe Mickeys and shared a pizza? Is it large enough to share pizza there?
