Which is closest to DD?

Does anybody know which of the DD hotels is closest to DD? We are going in Jan. and since the codes for the resorts aren't out yet I'm going to start looking offsite. Since we spend a very large amount of time at DD I would like to know which one we can walk to (with a 6 yo) the easiest.

Sheilap,
The closest hotel to DD would be the Wyndham. It is only just across the street from one of the main entrances to DD. Although back in June there was alot of road construction nearby so you may want to check to see if its still going on and how much disruption it is causing.

It figures that is the one...the only hotel I can't find a great rate for! I tried the 50% off deal, but my dates don't work.

The Courtyard really isn't that far... we walked there and back with our daughter with no problems. Also, they are known for having great specials... you might want to check them out!

hi when we left at the end of october, the road works where nearly finished, they have made pavements and proper crossings making it easier to walk to dd. the grovenor is also within walking distance we havnt stayed there but know a few people who have and have liked it enough to go back it may be worth checking out. dd is also one of our fav places we spent a lot of time there this holiday, the new toy shop is lovely, also pin nights on monday where you can win pins was realy good the kids loved playing the games, they both won a pin each. susie

The Marriott is not all that far from DD and the rates have been unbelievable.
The Hilton is also very close. Closer than the Marriott.

The Courtyard was easily walkable. My friend took a taxi and only spent ??$4 but said she felt pretty stupid when they drove up and it was sooo close. We walked the next time.

However, you could walk one way and taxi back if needed. (By the way - we were walking with a 6 and a 7 year old)
