Can someone tell me what is closer to Clermont.

Is Universal North of WDW?

Anyone familiar with drive times between Universal and Clermont or WDW and Clermont. My DH said it took him forever to get from WL to Clermont last October. Do you think it will be easier to get from RPR to Clermont?

Thanks in advance.

It depends on where in Clermont you are talking. If you are on the south side near 27 & 192..you are right in WDW's back door (you have to drive a bit around to get to the entrance however). Also, it depends on how you drive there. Most people dont realize that if you go to the end of 192, you can take 27 right up. If you are in Clermont proper..you could take 50 across to Kirkman Rd, and then you are on your way to Universal.

So, if you can give me a more specific place in Clermont. I can tell you the fastest drive. I lived in south Clermont for a while, and commuted to both WDW and UO many times from there.

Let me know!

My DH needs to go to the Triathlon Training Center.

We will be there in October for the Great Floridian Triathlon and he had some trouble getting there from WL.

Thanks.

Ok, that's up near the Citrus Tower, I believe. So that's up near 50.

We're moving to south Clermont, just 3 miles north of 192 on 27, and I can tell you how to get to WDW and Universal from there, but I don't know the best way from up there. We are a good 9 or 10 miles from "Clermont" even though we're in Clermont!

If you are up near the Citrus Tower, just get on 50 going east. When you get to the Florida Turnpike...take it going toward Miami. Get off at i-4, head toward Tampa, and you will find that the first exit off of I-4 is for Universal. Disney is of course just a few more exits down. That would most likely be your quickest route.

Are you joking?

YenSid is not joking...those would be the directions to Universal...

I even checked MapQuest

I need directions to Clermont from Universal.

We were thinking of staying at AKL at Disney or RPR at Universal.

What resort is closer to Clermont? AKL or RPR?

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

DH needs a good, quick route to Clermont in October from wither AKL or RPR.

What resort would you stay at if you had to get up very early in the morning and wanted a hassle free drive to Clermont?

We stayed at WL last October and DH said it was quite a drive to Clermont.

Thanks in advance for any info.

We are not staying in Clermont. We will either stay at Universal or Disney.

We will be arriving in Orlando on 10/23/03. My DH has to drive to Clermont the next day to prep for a Triathlon and rack his bike. He also has to drive to Clermont on 10/25 for the actual race. He will have to get up around 4:30 am.

Where would you suggest we stay? AKL at Disney or RPR at Universal?

I want his commute to Clermont to be as easy as possible.

Is it easier to get to Clermont from Universal or Disney?

Thanks.

I would say AKL...if you go from AKL, you can turn right when you come to the first intersection outside of the resort, you then follow that road (I think it's Sherboth? or Sherbeth) almost to the end (which is 192)....you can either turn right just before 192 and take a nice little back road (that still dumps you onto 192, but further up), or you can go right (west)on 192 and follow that until 27 N heading toward Clermont (as opposed to Haines City) and follow 27 all the way up to 50 (which is somewhere around 12 miles or so...don't quote me) after that, I'm not sure, but the training center is near the citrus tower, so that's right up in that area. 27 is a 2 lane road, but it's about 65 all the way....
It's not close, but it's not bad, IMO. It's better than getting on I-4 ANY day, at least to me! ;)

I'm new at this Clermont thing, so someone correct me if I've given bad directions! LOL I don't do well with N,S,E and W, but I usually get where I want to be!
