Which is a better deal?

I have to decide between Contemporary wing room at $109. per night;
Grand Floridian at $175. per night ;
or use SIXTY FOUR (64, I think, maybe it's 62) points to stay two nights in new Beach Club villas studio.

These two additional nights are at the end of a week at BWV one bedroom. I don't think this is a good use of points. I asked the MS rep what the value of the points is so I could compare. She said they are absolutely forbidden from saying anything like that. We will only be there at the next resort for two nights, and have to leave very early to drive to HHI for three nights. Essentially we will only have about thirty six hours at the resort.

Would you use over sixty points for thirty six hours?

Only you know what is best for you and your family, but I personally wouldn't think that the 64 or 62 points is the best use of points in that situation....

If it were me, I would go for the middle ground. The Contemporary @ 109.00 is an excellent price, you would still be on property at a deluxe resort.

62 points for 2 nights in a studio seems like a waste to me. At least sell them for $10 pp, pay cash for GF or Cont and use the difference during your stay. But maybe that's just how my mind works.

Have you stayed at GF before? If not, that's a great price to try it out. I wouldn't use 64 points (it is 32 per night in July for weekends) for 2 quick nights in a studio, save them for a longer trip.

I vote for the GF we've stayed there four times but the price has gotten out of our reach. While we love the DVC resorts, if we had the cash that we didn't know what to do with we'd love to go back.

I would also go with either the Contemporary or GF, they are great prices! How did you get those rates?

In my opinion don't waste your points for a 2 night stay. If you have the cash and you can afford to stay at the GF then do so. If you plan on not being in your room for most of the time but in the theme parks then go to the Conpt and save the dough and the points.

I'd also vote for paying cash... If you like the Contemporary, 109 is an excellent price, otherwise go with the GF or Poly... How did you get these rates, I'd be interested in rates like these as well?

I also say pay cash. Points rental go for $10 a point, So you are comparing $109 per night to an estimate of $320 per night.

My opinion : pay cash and go for the GF.

This is a GREAT price !!!! You'll love it for sure ;)

I would pay cash and stay at the Contemporary - or the GF if you can afford it and save your points. Those are great rates by the way, how did you get them?

What two days in a studio are 62/64 points ? Weekend prime time ?

Personnally I don't like Cont Wings. Never stayed there, but can anything get more "hotel" like ? We would only stay at Cont if we could afford an upper,MK facing tower room, but tuitions kinda put the whammy on that idea.

Several people have asked, so I will say that the rates are military. I have never stayed at SOG before, so I didn't really know much about it, but called to inquire about the two nights after the BWV leg of the trip. Since they were booked at SOG/Contemporary, I booked GF. Got on the waitlist for CR, which ended up coming through. Now I have the two ressies, but had also made a ressie with points at BCV. Wasn't sure I wanted to pay more for this already expensive and lengthy trip.

My use year is April, and I borrowed from the following year. I know I won't be able to make another trip down this year, so I'm hoping I will still have options for using these points. I have never banked, only borrowed, so I'm not sure how it works.

Thanks for the opinions. I am still uncertain about whether or not to go to CR. I read mixed reviews about it, but for the length of time we will be there, it might be the best bet. I love GF so much that I will probably be sitting in my room, looking out across Bay Lake with longing eyes at the GF.

Has anyone stayed in a wing room that really loved it?

I just wanted to make a suggestion about your borrowed points. You can change your current reservation to use all of your borrowed points & some of your current points. You could then bank those remaining current points forward to your next use year... This is an option if you decide you don't want to use those points for the weekend...

I do agree that Contemporary is the best bet $$$ wise, but I would also be looking at the GF longingly... it's only 66.00 more per night for the GF though??

Have you looked at the Dolphin or Swan. I understand if you have an annual pass or a Disney Club card you may get some good rates.

I changed my mind about the BCV for sixty four points on a weekend. It just wasn't a good use of points for me, because I don't have a lot of points to play with.

A wonderful person at MS, Melissa, knew just how to handle the points. I am unclear about what she did exactly.

I decided that the cash ressie was the best use of our money/points. I am still unsure which to stay at, though.

Thanks
