Which is better Hollywood & Vine or Mama Melrose?

I am not the right person to answer this question as I do not think either are anything special, but I guess I would go with Mama Melrose if I had to make a choice..

Can't say about MM but we found H&V disgusting.

Well, dh and I are not crazy about red sauce, so we have never tried MM. H&V is a family favorite for us, we just really enjoy the variety. The six of us all have very different tastes and we can all find plenty to love there. You are gonna get answers on both sides though, just personally opinion!

If we had a choice.....then it would be H & V......the food is not all that bad and the choices are pretty good....we went there in April and the selections were good..

sorry to split the vote here but i vote for MM -- really enjoyed the salmon - yes they have more than just pasta - or at least they did in 05! in may we went to HV - didn't really care for it

We have never been to MM (trying it for the first time in a few weeks:goodvibes ), but we have been to H & V and liked it.

H&V is my least favorite buffet at WDW. MM is a favorite of mine. Anything you see on the menu can pretty much be prepared to order for you. I usually get the Spaghetti Fra Diavolo - Made with clams, mussels, calamari, and shrimp tossed in a spicy marinara sauce. Except I get it with only shrimp (and they put lots of shirmp!) and in a non-spicy marinara. We've never had a bad experience there. The wait staff has always been so friendly and great about any special requests. We'll be back there again for my birthday this Sept.

We haven't been to either. We did book the Fantasmic Mama Melrose package for when we're there in February. Based on the menus, we thought Mama Melrose looked better.

Darlak - so you can have this without the spicy sauce?? We are going here in a couple of weeks and I really liked the sound of the Spaghetti Fra Diavolo but was turned off by the spicy marinara. This is great!!!!

Many of my family members are picky eaters, so we know that most restaurants in WDW are pretty accommodating. Mama Melrose's just always seems to be happier about doing so. They never act like it's a problem and almost make us feel like they're happy we asked. We've special ordered other menu items as well.

The Warm Chocolate Truffle Cake is one of my favorite desserts in all of WDW too. It's a small round chocolate cake filled with a warm chocolate syrup center, sprinkled with powdered sugar and drizzled with a raspberry sauce, with a few raspberries as garnishment.

I can't stop thinking about this...I want to go right now!

I guess I will have to keep thinking about it :fish: for the next 9 days :hourglass before I get to try it for myself.:cheer2:

We're doing H & V, but I live in a very Italian area, with excellent Italian food all around me, and can't even stomach Olive Garden. I stay away from any and all Italian food on vacation!

Definitely MM. We have had two really bad experiences at Hollywood & Vine and will never go back. The place was filthy, the service lousy, the food cold or not replenished for great lengths of time when they ran out. The only good thing about it was the dessert section.

We just returned from WDW yesterday. We had H&V for dinner and lunch in that week. On both occasions the buffet was poor.. the service was horrendous. It really was a let down. I do not think that the dining plan has much to do with the service either. For dinner we used the dining plan and had far superior service than for lunch when we told the server in advance that we would be paying cash. I will next time try Melrose.

We ate at MM in August. The service was the best we had that week and we ate at a table service all 7 days of our stay. I had the salmon and it was quite good. My husband had pork tenderloin, he said his was good as well. We don't eat pasta and substitutions were no problem.
