Which is better for breakfast before Epcot?

We are thinking of Spoodles or Cape May for breakfast before we head to Epcot.
1. Which is a closer walk to the International Gateway?
2. Which has better food?
3. Is there somewhere else you would recommend
4. How far behind the crowd will we be entering at the IG?
5. Is there a place you would recommend that would be easy to get in at Epctot front entrance? - how about the Poly or Contemp and then taking the monorail or would that take much longer?

Thanks all!

It depends if you are looking for a character breakfast or not. Cape May has characters and can be hard to get in without a ressie. Also can be a little hectic.

Our personal choice is Spoodles, great food and service. Laid back, not rushed, a relaxing place for breakfast.

Entering through IG should not be a problem at all. We do it all the time.

We have a couple of scheduled character breakfasts so really what we are looking for is a good meal to get us started for the day that will get us in and out before rope drop.

We are staying at WL and would take a cab and then walk to Epcot.

How long is the walk from Spoodles to Epcot gateway entrance?

Would going to a monorail restaurant work or would it take longer to get to Epcot afterwards?

The walk isn't long at all. I'd just stick with Spoodles..we eat breakfast there every trip!!

Sunshine Seasons in the Land also does hot breakfasts. It's counter service, but then you're already in Epcot instead of having to walk over to it. You can grab a fastpass for Soarin then sit down and eat breakfast :) Just another option to throw out!

You won't be disappointed in Spoodles. The walk to Epcot is not very long or you can even ride the boat, but sometimes walking is quicker.

Can't think of a monorail restaurant worth breakfast except for the Tonga Toast at Kona Cafe in the Polynesian. Worth trying if you have never had it. If you have, stick with Spoodles.

There's also the Grand Floridian Cafe at the Grand Floridian (I know, who would have guessed the location, right?) It's great for a nice, low-key start. And delicious :)

1. Which is a closer walk to the International Gateway? Probably the same distance

2. Which has better food? Cape May for sure! Spoodles was terrible!

3. Is there somewhere else you would recommend Boma is our fav but if it is too far away stick with Cape May

4. How far behind the crowd will we be entering at the IG? We have never experienced any crowds by entering at the IG

5. Is there a place you would recommend that would be easy to get in at Epctot front entrance? - how about the Poly or Contemp and then taking the monorail or would that take much longer If you are going to do that I would go for Kona or GFC at the GF

I would not do a Monorail restaurant for breakfast before Epcot, I think it would take too long to try and be back for Rope Drop.
You said you were going to drive to breakfast. Where are you planning on parking for the day? You can not park at the YC/BC or the Boardwalk resorts all day while you go to Epcot. This is not allowed. You should be given a 3 hour parking pass to eat, but you will be at risk of being towed after that if you leave your car there. It is a short drive from this area to the Epcot parking lot.
Good Luck and have a nice trip.

I think we will def. stay at the boardwalk area - we will get a cab there from WL and then walk to IG

Still trying to decide betw. Spoodles and Cape May - which one do you think we would get in and out of the fastest.

I am thinking I'd like a 7:30 ressie and hopefully out by 8:20 - 8:30 ish. Doable? for both locations?

Spoodles is by far the fastest. We have always been in and out in under an hour. No wait, and you can get in and out very quickly. The food is very good. Cape May, even with an ADR is a little bit of a wait. Even if you are just waiting in line to check in. Also it takes longer because of the characters, buffet lines, etc.

They both are about the same distance from the IG. Cape May is slightly closer. There is also the Captains Grill in The YC which serves a quick, good breakfast with out characters. We were in and out of there in about 35-40 minutes in May and we took our time eating.

We have never been a crowd entering the IG, we just walk right in.

They're both pretty equally close, so I wouldn't take that into much consideration. Cape May is fun because it's a character breakfast. There's also Sunshine Seasons at Epcot that's a CS.

We had breakfast at Cape May last Sunday, Dec 21 (Myself, DH, DD20 and DS14) With three characters and a 7:30 am ADR we took a cab over from AKL and got one of the first tables. We had a nice breakfast to start the day, the restaurant was lovely, the three characters came by the table very quickly and early so we could snap a few fun pics and we let our server know we wanted to be out quickly and we were walking over to the IG by 8:05. I might have thought more about lingering if I had younger kids but we were on the DDP, the meal was very pleasant and it was perfect for us

We went in through the back door and even with it being an EMH and we were able to walk over to Soarin and get in with only a 10 min standby, get Fast passes to TT and ride Mission Space all by 8:45.

Don't know much about Spoodles but it's hard to beat Mickey Waffles, hot coffee, scrambled eggs and a bit of fruit to start the day.

If you changed your mind and decided to do a monorail resort for breakfast. I would choose Kona. It would be a very short cab ride from WL and you can walk to TTC to catch the Epcot monorail.
