Hi,

I want to take my DD, 4, to a Princess meal. She is soooooooo into princesses. Akershus does not look at all appealing menu-wise, so we are down to CRT or 1900 Park. Which one would you recommend? We will be on the dining plan, so CRT will take 2 credits each, while 1900 Park will take 1.

Thanks!

I would recommend CRT. Nothing beats eating in the castle. She'll be amazed and so excited to eat in Cinderella's Castle, and then she'll get to MEET them all on top of it. CRT is worth the 2 credits in my mind. :)

Let's see.
Food. Park Faire.
PF is a buffet with a nice mix of food. CRT has a limited menu.
Characters. Park Faire. PF is a standard character meal at dinner where the characters all come to the table and pose. CRT at dinner is Cindy in the lobby, but the only action upstairs is a little show from what I've gathered.
Setting. Castle. It is a once in a lifetime experience to actually get to eat inside the castle. 1900 resembles the inside of a ballroom at a convention hotel.

We found the once in a lifetime experience of the castle (under the old lunch format) worth 1 credit, but not two. The new dinner format doesn't appeal to me at all. I doubt I'd have even tried it for one credit let alone two.

I have not done CRT (we are doing the b-fast on 4/22) -but we did dinner at 1900 Park Faire last evening and it was a wonderful evening - the food was very good and we enjoyed the interaction with the characters.

:confused3 we have never done any special meal in the parks and this trip are celebrating our 20th anniversary, the dinner menu doesn't look to appealing for dd12 who will be with us-which would you pick????thanks in advance. princess:

I'd pick 1900 Park Fare. The food is better. The character experience is better. The cost is less.

Seriously, the only thing CRT has going for it is the fact that you are in the castle--the atmosphere. THe characters there were very short with my 2 teens in December, and frankly the casting was poor. It was almost as if some of the princesses had traded dresses. The girls sat there and discussed how my DD looked more like Snow than the castle princess (who was dark complected with brown eyes). They sort of picked at the food.....

DD and I had been to the princess lunch at Disneyland in August where it was excellent (food and characters), so this was quite a disappointment. THe characters were in that mode of "say hello, sign book, pose for picture, move on" very quickly.

At 1900, Prince Charming flirted with the girls.....who made him stop because "Prince Kyle" would be jealous as would Cinderella. Cindy was sweet and well cast...the mice were just darling and fussed over me because the girls told Susie that I sew. You get the picture.

I have not been to CRT in years never withthe current format. I have been to 1900 PF for dinner this summer nad all 4 of the kids had a blast 2 bopys 4 &5 and 2 girls both 3 had a fun time. The food was really good and if you time it right you amy get a chance to see the electric parade from the beach or even wishes without the music.

For the setting I'd chose CRT, I haven't been there but the pics I've seen are beautiful. We ate at 1900 PF 2 weeks ago and the food was REALLY good. We did 3 character meals and it was our fav, hands down. Our others were Crystal Palace (food was a little disappointing) and Chef Mickeys. Nex time I want to do CRT and the Toy Story meals if it ever starts!

Just for clarification, the princesses are not at CRT Dinner other than Cinderella in the lobby.

The Fairy Godmother and Suzy and Perla do a little wishing presentation in the resturant, but it is not a real character meal.

The posts that mention princesses in the castle are talking about breakfast and lunch.

I have to agree that 1900 Park Faire is probably more worth the money, but you do get a lovely ceremony at CRT dinner when it's done right.

1900 Park Faire is a regular character dining experience with Cinderella, Prince Charming, and the mice going around the tables with Fairy Godmother in the lobby. It's probably the place my boyfriend and I have eaten the most frequently of any WDW resturant.

Two completely different experiences.

Cindy's Castle is just that, every little girls dream to have breakfast here. While I've not eaten here since the changes. I have had breakfast and dinner here, always love it. Have always had good character inter-action, good service and good food.

1900 Park Fare my favorite of all the character buffets. Love the food, love the restaurant and character inter-action has always been great.

A little story about our last visit in October. We had a early dinner here on the night we were attending MNSSHP. Princess Aurora was in the lobby, she had on her Pink Gown. Both Granddaughters had on A "50" Poodle shirt and skirt, and saddle shoes. One was pink the other was blue. Princess Aurora spent so much time with them, telling the story of the pink and blue fairies and how they kept changing her dress from pink to blue. Dinner was wonderful and Cindy (blue dress) looked beautiful. Prince Charming was the hit of the night. The girls loved him and he spent so much time with them, while they asked him ton of questions.

Got some great pictures of them with all the characters. The funniest pictures came after the meal. I had forgotten all about them. The Grand Floridian has a magnificent staircase over by the elevator. They were going up and down pretending to lose their shoe.

I scrapbook and these pictures were a gold-mine. A Once Opon a Time page, one in pink one in blue, A pink and blue fairy page having a color duel, and a Prince Charming page with them leaving their shoes on the staircase. Where else but at the Grand Floridian could this have happened.

The Magic of Disney brought to life forever in a few scrapbook pages.

From what I've seen recently, there are no princesses in the dining room at CRT dinner, only lunch and breakfast. We like the food at CRT, but haven't been back since the menu change and probably won't. We ate once at 1900 Park Fare but didn't care for the food. There was nothing wrong with it, just wasn't for us.

I know you're asking for dinner, but if you could do breakfast at all, I'd do the Princess Storybook breakfast.

I would do 1900 Pf. we did it when our DD was 2 1/2 and we are doing it in Oct when she will be 4. We did the castle, but it was very rushed and the food not too good. The character interaction was ok, but VERY pricey IMHO for what you got. Saying that its a once in a lifetime thing.

1900 Pf Prince charming was wonderful. He asked my daughter to dance, and the video we have, still brings tears to my eyes. The food was lovely too. Cindes Fairy G and the Mice came around at least twice each. The GF is a lovely hotel, and we too have family photos taken on the grand stair cases there !!!!

Have fun :thumbsup2
