Which is best for little Princess?

Thanks everyone who responded! You all made very good points, and made even better suggestions. You guys were right, it is a vacation for the my sister and I, but we want Faith(my niece) to feel extra special those few days. You know, just the girls...no boys. Think we will add BBB to the list of things to do and I will look into the Tea party at GF.
Thanks again to all of you ! Jen:goodvibes

Honestly, with a 5 year old during a warmer time of year, I'd be thinking about the pool more than how princessy the resort is. DD6 liked POR and thinks the GF is beautiful, but her very favorite resort in the world (not just at Disney - anywhere!) is the Beach Club because the pool is so very cool. She wants to try the Poly next because we saw the volcano pool between dinner at Kona and catching the boat. I think kids that age are mostly oblivious to the atmosphere that we, as adults, consider so important in a resort - give 'em a great pool with a fun slide and an air conditioned room to sleep in, and they're thrilled!

You can fit in lots of princess time in the parks and in other places during your trip - the Bibbiti Bobbiti Boutique, character meals with the Princesses, Cinderella's Royal Table, the Perfectly Princess Tea or even just an afternoon tea at the GF, and all those character meet & greet opportunities that come along around the parks, not to mention the charm bracklets and pick a pearl and other girly shopping opportunities. I wouldn't give much weight to the "princess" vibe of the resort - choose one that you'll all like, and add the princess touches elsewhere.

GF most definitely. It is the stop before MK in the morning. That said, CR is a 5 min walk from MK, great news in the evening. Even better if you pay for the tower view. I'd also suggest POR mansion section, if $ is an issue. But no matter where she stays adding in a princess meal will make her feels special. Remember to pack "park clothes" so she can change into her clothes after the meal. Just stop by a store and have them send them back to the resort as long it's over 24 hrs before your departure.

I really think that a five year old would prefer the All Star hotels. It is almost like they built them for five year olds. I can't see any adult being excited about one, though. :)

If I were picking a hotel to please a kid that age, I'd suck it up and go to the All Stars. But, IMO, the kid will happy enough at Disney that it won't matter where they stay, so I wouldn't pick a hotel for the kid.

Hey! I'M an adult and I'm excited about staying at All Star Movies. Can't wait to see the big Buzz and the bucket of toy soliders!! Guess my inner child is a 5 year old!

I guess it depends on the kid, but mine would be happier at Pop. (or any of the values.) My DD thinks she is a princess no matter if we are home or anywhere, but I think I would spend less on the resort and spend the savings on the fun things like Princess lunches and BBB.

I'd say GF is the most princessy. We went with dd (4 years old) this year and when we went to the 1900 Park Fare dinner with Cinderella there it felt like being in a castle. I have a great pic of dd dressed in her Cinderella dress at the top of the staircase there, just perfect. Now we stayed at the POLY which also has a view of the MK castle and she really enjoyed that too. So I would say GF or POLY.

Don't worry Mayl, I'm with you. I have a 5 yo daughter and while we love the princess meals and encounters, that plastic BBB "look" is just not us. People will slam us for not "getting it" but to each her own.
