Hello Everyone!! :) Need help from ya'll!!

My sister called today and wants to plan an all girl trip to Disney. It will be Her(33), myself(35) and my niece who will almost 5 years at trip time.(March or early April) Has anyone had an experience at a resort that is better for "Little Princesses"?princess: Would like to hear stories so that we can choose the best place to stay for my niece. Thanks, Jennifer

I cant suggest resorts, but will this be the 5 yo's first WDW trip? If so I say make sure you goto cinderella royal table in the castle. I know people say it's expensive (it is) but my niece went WILD getting to eat IN THE CASTLE!! And about fainted when she saw all the princesses.. :D Was precious

Any Disney resort is going to be fine but one thing I would so do is the Bibbidi bobbidi Boutique eaither in downtown Disney or new in the Castle in Sept 07'!

I have refered many of my clients here and we have personally used this too- My daughter loved it! These are 2007 prices... I am sure 2008 are higher.

Feel like a Disney princess in this magical salon, which is owned by the Fairy Godmother and operated by Fairy Godmothers-in-training. Consider such entrancing options as hair styles, nail polish, make-up and a total package including Disney princess costume and photos.

Girls three and older can choose from three hair styles -- Fairytale Princess, Disney Diva and Pop Princess -- and three packages:
· Coach Package includes hair style and shimmering make-up -- $35 plus tax
· Crown Package includes hair style, shimmering make-up and nails -- $45 plus tax
· Castle Package includes the Crown Package plus Imaging Package*, and complete costume of your choice with accessories -- starting at $175 plus tax
*The Imaging Package includes one 6" x 8" and four 4" x 6" photos in a princess-themed photo holder.

Pick from a host of wondrous accessories, including faux hair and tiaras, at this enchanting place.

I would so do this! We are going to do it in the caslte in Sept 3 days after it opens! Can't wait.

My opinion would be the be the Grandfloridian with a view of the Magic Kingdom. But rember that you have to ask for a room with a view.To.Diznejen1

I'd go with the GF for that...in fact, I am, next month when I take my daughter and cousin, both turning 13! I've stayed at several resorts now. AKL might be great for her if she loves animals. But of the monorail resorts, for a girl trip, I'd pick GF. Although I do love the Poly, you can't go wrong with the Poly!

Here's another vote for the GF, and definitely for the Perfectly Princess Tea Party. It is pricey but worth it, we had a blast!

TOTALLY agree with GF!!! Esp because of the tea party! If GF is not in your budget, hmmmmmmm.....I think a five year old would really enjoy ASMO!

I'd say the GF as well. We haven't stayed there yet but I took DD who had just turned 7 there last summer, did a little shopping. She loved it, thought it was so beautiful.

There's that tea party and the Park Fare characters meals there too :)

Unfortunately, you didn't mention budget, which is a big factor is resort selection. The GF is very nice and most girls would think they were a princess there, but if it's a room with a view that you want, book the CR tower - MK view. This is the only resort that will guarantee you a view of the castle and she'll feel like she's living almost inside the park. Both are very expensive though. If you needed to scale back a bit, I'd vote for the POR's Magnolia Bend section.

I really think that a five year old would prefer the All Star hotels. It is almost like they built them for five year olds. I can't see any adult being excited about one, though. :)

If I were picking a hotel to please a kid that age, I'd suck it up and go to the All Stars. But, IMO, the kid will happy enough at Disney that it won't matter where they stay, so I wouldn't pick a hotel for the kid.

While it's nice to take into consideration what would please your niece, this is YOUR vacation, too. Stay where it would please you and your sister. Your niece won't know the difference.

GF is very "princessy", but I remember staying there when I was 10. Back then the only thing I cared abotu in a hotel was how cool the pool was. Although they updated it a little since 1989, I still think GF's pool leaves somethig to be desired. Perhaps the Polynesian or the Wilderness Lodge would be better options. On my 10-year-old's scale of pool superiority, they both register 9.5's.

Polyn or WL - deluxe - okay the CR with the monrail going through it might be the best for her age.
VWL - dvc
POR - mansion section - moderate
Pop - value - okay All Star Movies would work too.

Every little Princess is different but my little PRincess who is now 5 told me she liked POFQ the best. We stayed at the AKL and she had decided that she wanted to move there, and at the Poly so I was surprised. I think she absolutely loved the pool and the alligators around it. We have been to the GF for several meals and the Princess tea so she was exposed to it, but still so far POFQ is her choice.

Your niece is going to love anywhere that you choose to stay, it's all Disney.

Depending on budget:

Deluxe: Poly
Mod: PO Riverside
Value: All stars music

Regarding that bitty bobby thing in DTD.. PLEASE do not let your child be exploited by that place.. We were there (out daughter is 7) and walked out.. It is just a "factory". All the bad stories you hear about beauty pagents and all that.. 100% worse in that horrible place.. Just spend the money toward the princess dinner in Norway or anything else but that place. Sorry to be negative. but so many mothers there pushing daughters into dress up and spending hours in the chair to lose it all in the hot sun or just being a small little girl.

WOW... I am sorry you feel this way about BBB. I have sent over 40 clients to BBB since April 2006 when it first opened and never heard anything like this. All of them loved it and the little girls loved it too! My son even got a cool dude look and he wants to get it done again in our trip in 20 days! They will be opening another in the castle Sep 9th 2007 so then maybe it won't be as busy. I will say that- it is busy- best time to get in is early morning or last appointment for the day. Best wishes!

sorry for the vent..

it was just ugly with parents pushing kids into stuff they clearly did not want to do.. All to spend money for something that many times was "ruined" a few hours later..

DTD was filled with little girls crying and parents p.o'ed about ruined make up and hair.. All for little girls that should be in short, getting dirty on vacation and have skinned knees..

Bleh, I get fired up about this.. sorry

My daughter loved it and thought she could sign autographs as Jasmine afterwords...lol She wanted to do it this year but I told her I wasn't doing the big package because it was alot of $$ and she offered to sell some of her toys to help pay for it.. so she did and we are now.. she is 5 1/2 and just loved it. I would never push any of my kids to do something they didn't want to do. This is something they both wanted to do... again. No problem about venting.. I do it too..lol I just wish I could change you mind..lol Its so great!

I agree with the poster who said to pick what you like too, because most of the time kids like the complete opposite of what you would think they would like. We have visited almost all the resorts, including the values, and all my kids, ages 4 through 16, prefer the Polynesian. When it comes to a girly vacation though, I still would probably pick GF or Contemporary, it is cool being that close to the MK! We haven't tried BBB yet, but have ressies for the one in the castle this December before our MVMCP!
