We are booked Sept 17 - 28 at Pop Century. We are hoping for free dining. I am aware that some hotels booked quickly with the free dining. I'm sure POP would be one of the first values to book up. Does anyone know what the next value would be as well as the moderate resorts. :confused3

I'm just trying to get all my ducks in a row just in case I need to switch resorts. :thumbsup2

Thanks guys :)

Typically Movies books before the others then I think Sports and finally Music -- this has just been my observation in ten years of booking trips there (or however long they have been open!)

I was hoping for POP as well, but now I am just going to go ahead and plan with Sports. I believe even if I am able to book POP it will just be way tooooooooo crowded during the free dining!!

That did not even cross my mind...ugh

I have 2 boys (4 and 10) that will be going but I really would to stay away from the resorts where groups of kids usually stay.

I was thinking that Sports and Music would be those resorts because of team sports and bands.

How is Movies?

I will be so glad when I find out about free dining so I can know for sure where we will be staying. :confused3 This is the worst part ....so far

I am saying this based purely on what I have seen with my own eyes. When free dining is going on, the values are BOOKed and the bus lines are RIDICUCULOUS. Now, when I say Ridiculous, I MEAN it. Like lines so long at the MK one night that they would have needed 8 buses all at once just to make the walkway, walkable behind the bus "serpentine lines/walkways".......Yes, it was that bad. :scared1:

Good luck to all of you attempting it.

Do you think that the moderate resorts would be as bad??:confused3

I don't know what sort of discounts you're eligible for, if any at all. But yes, in my opinion and my experience, the mods are a better. We were staying at the POFQ that trip that I mentioned earlier and only one bus had to come before we loaded...did that make sense? LOL! Not to mention, when that one bus came that we got on, a second pulled in as we were pulling out. :thumbsup2

If you can afford a moderate and get the ressies, I think you should go for it. It really will be a more enjoyable experience and I've stayed at just about all of them...repeatedly. :goodvibes

And before you even ask, LOL.....my advice would be PO French Quarter or Riverside four countless reasons. :lovestruc

Good luck to you, seriously. Everyone has an opinion, no person's opinion is any more valid than someone else's....with questions like these anyway. :goodvibes

I can't believe it's almost time for us to go!!! It's just now REALLY dawning on me that I'll be there very soon. :cool1: :cloud9:

During the time free dining is offered there usually arent' any school or sports groups also at the resorts. Typically school has just started which is also why there's a need for this promo as lots of people don't want to travel the first few weeks of school. I've stayed at both Pop and ASMovies. Pop was probably full of the most "free diner's" and the food court was a nightmare. If I had to make back up plans I'd choose ASMusic ( new pillow top beds, fresh decor, recent renovation, and the daily activities ), then ASSports ( will have finished it's renovation by then) and lastly ASMovies which is starting to look a bit shabby. We booked Pop for 2008 with the BB free dining promo and if it was in my budget I'd switch to POFQ in a heartbeat due to the crowds and bus issues mentioned above. I was thinking of switching to ASMusic from my Pop ressie. Both resorts have things we really like so it's a toss up as to which is best for my family, again working within our budget.---Kathy

So what your saying is the moderates are not as crowded as the values during the free dining promo.

I'm seriously considering changing to POFQ now. I've always wanted to try a moderate out. If POFQ is booked which one should I try for then? I think that we could swing it cost wise especially if free dining is offered because we would save 1300.00. I'll probably wait until an announcement is made. Decisions Decision :confused3 :confused3

I know it probably will be more crowded at the value resorts. My nerves could not handle a "butt load" of people....lol Especially, going to the food court. With 2 growing boys we would be going their alot...

The pillow top beds sounds really comfy....:cloud9:

I just want to make sure that I make the best decisions for this trip....

Lucky Duck only a few more days until you are in the world.. Hope that the weather will be great for you :thumbsup2

CSR has a great CS value in the Pepper Market. You can get prime rib or ribeye steak just to mention a few items and its only a CS credit.

I have stayed at both values and moderates during free dining. Values do seem more crowded, but then again, they ALWAYS seem more crowded even without free dining.

....

I have been to All Stat Music during free dining the last 3 years.

All Star Music is usually quite quiet and has not been crowded during our stays during free dining.

I have never run into any school groups (Team sports and bands) during free dining since most school groups will not travel during September. (For most schools September is the beginning of the school year.)
