I have booked 2 hotels for our March trip to DL Ramada and also HoJo. Can you tell me what one of these are the better one. Our trip is from March 11-18. Thank you!

I haven't stayed at the Ramada and I don't know where it is. Can you walk from there in 8 minutes or less? If not, HoJo has an advantage right there since it's only an 8 minute walk and saves you time from driving there and parking or waiting for a shuttle.

Did you get a Kids' Suite or just a standard 2 bed room at HoJo? I love their Kids Suite because it means the kids get their own room (and bathroom!) and when they napped/went to bed, we could still stay up.

HoJo also has mini-fridges and microwaves in many rooms (no microwave in the basic standard room). That comes in handy for breakfast (since they don't offer free breakfasts). Other benefits include a water park for kids, comfy beds, great service, and a view of the fireworks. Also, unlike many of the Harbor hotels, HoJo doesn't charge for parking.

In terms of cons, some think the rooms facing the freeway are noisy. All kids' suites face the freeway but we didn't hear a thing as we had the AC on all night. Others also complain there's no free breakfast but I just brought our own food to heat in the microwave. Some of the hotels that do offer breakfast offer cold stuff anyway (cereal, fruit, bagels) and my family needs real/hot breakfasts. Finally, it is an 8 minute walk, so slightly farther than the GC (which is the closest of the 3 DLR hotels) and DIS, PVI, and other Harbor hotels right at the crosswalk.

Hope others can chime in re: benefits of staying at the Ramada so you can compare and contrast the two more accurately.

Do you know which Ramada? The Maingate is closer the Plaza ia further.

The Maingate is closer than the Hojo by a few minutes, not much but about 25% closer. This can be nice to save when you walk back and forth multiple times. The maingate also has a simple continental breakfast.

Also the Ramada Maingate should be cheaper unless you can get a entertainment rate at the Hojo. Also you can get the DIS rate at the Hojo.

I would say that HoJo's is one of the consensus favorites here for families. It has a good location, a nice pool area and family suites.

We stayed at the Ramada maingate recently and it is definitely a little closer. It is a really simple bfast: pastries, cereal, toast, hard boiled eggs, fruit. We supplemented with yogurt we kept in the fridge.
They do have an updated pool area with a little splash area, but nothing like hojos pirate area, so it really comes down to what is most important for your family.

I've stayed at both, and I'd go with HoJo's. In fact, we left the Ramada Main Gate and moved to the HoJo's. The room we had at the Ramada wasn't particularly clean, and the A/C wasn't working.

HoJo's, on the other hand, was great. The rooms are large, clean, and bright. We didn't spend any time at the pool, but I've heard good things about it as well. It isn't as close as the Ramada, but the walk wasn't too bad (maybe 10 minutes).

I like the ramada Maingate. Rooms all have microwaves and fridges, continental breakfast and easy walk.

All the rooms have been remodeled in the last 9 months and the pool has been redone.

We just got back from an 8 day stay at the Ramada Maingate. It is an easy walk, closer than HoJo's. The Breakfast was good for us, hot & cold cereal, toast, muffins, hardboiled eggs, and there seemed to be plenty of everything.
The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The room had a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Nice pool with a hot tub, and we found the staff very friendly and helpful. This was our first stay at this hotel and would stay there again.:thumbsup2

I am kinda leaning towards HoJo. I am I don't think the walk would be that bad from hotel. We are going to have a premiere room. I think that's what it his called, Park view. My only concern is the breakfast. My husband and I are coffee people in the morning more so me. 1 cup of coffee and I am ready to go. My kids need breakfast. So I think pop tarts and fruit will be good for them. :goodvibes:goodvibes :goodvibes:goodvibesThank you for all the advise.
