Hi all,

Its my first post here and I need some help. I have looked at the posts on various hotels but they are all so good I am now confused! It seems like you all have a fair few experiences so heres what I'm asking.... I want to go to DLRP in December. Cant afford to Disneyland or New York so which would you recommend from the Sequoia, Newport Bay, Holiday Inn or Dream Castle. I am looking for a decent sized room, clean and easy to get breakfast etc.

Thanks in advance for your help.

:welcome:

The sequoia is a very nice hotel in Winter and is also the cheapest of the 2 disney hotels you listed.

I've never stayed in the Holiday Inn or Dream Castle, but a lot of people here have recently booked the Holiday Inn through the Eurostar website as it's very cheap in December through there apparantly, although you would need to sort out tickets of some sort if you did that.

After discussing it with everyone on here we decided to go for the Sequoia Lodge because it is supposed to be such a lovely place to stay at christmas time. Also the thought of sitting by the fire, warming ourselves with hot chocolate after a hard cold day in the park helped make our decision.

I didn't look at any of the others, so can't help you there, but the Sequoia gets my vote.

EDITED TO SAY: Welcome to the board!!

Hello! Welcome!

Definitely stay on site, and between NPB and SL I'd say go for SL. It's that bit smaller, breakfast is a lot less hectic and the themeing is perfect for winter!

I would also recommend the Sequioa Lodge out of all those. We have just stayed here for the first time and really liked it - although we have been in the bar area several times on previous trips (sometimes for a hot chocolate by the fire).
Its easy to walk back to form the parks rather than have to fight onto a shuttle bus back to Dream Castle or HI

I would recommend the SL aswell, Im staying here if i cant get my DLH upgrade.

tough call. Of those the Dream Castle feels the most upscale and romantic. And the Holiday Inn is the best value - but both are a bus ride away with infrequent service.

The SL is a lovely hotel, though a little overpriced for a moderate, but good pool, lovely bar, and quieter than the NBC.

Steer clear of the NBC - it's too big with not enough ameneties or staff. A number of attempts to see if our time was off, but nope, not good at all.

I love SL!!! It's our favourite hotel - we booked to stay there again in Dec. NPB I didn't like at all... It didn't have the same atmosphere as SL and was more expensive...

Cheyenne was nice, we all enjoyed staying there but my vote is for SL!:thumbsup2

Hi Esmecat and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

You have picked good choices for staying in a Disney hotel or one of the partner hotels.
All have pools so there is very little to seperate them.
The deciding factor might be benefits of staying on Disney property versus price of a partner hotel :)

Thank you all for your warm welcome and helpful advice. I have only been once before and we stayed in Disneyland hotel so not sure what the others were like. Feeling a lot more positive about it all now thanks to you. :thumbsup2

Sequioa Lodge seems to be the hotel of choice for Christmas. Very nice when we stayed there, mind you it would have probably changed a bit since then! That would be my choice for Christmas.
