Which Hotel Would You Choose?

We're planning a week-long trip for the end of June/beginning of July. I currently have 2 hotels booked and need to decide which one to go with so I can cancel the other. We've been to DL many times and have stayed at several of the hotels along Harbor. This time, my husband is also attending a convention and my sister is coming along to hang out with me and the kids. There will be 3 adults and 2 kids. We decided to book a suite so we'd have more room to spread out and have 2 bathrooms since my sister takes forever in the mornings! The convention is mostly taking place at the Honda Center. My husband can catch a bus from the Anaheim Hilton or take the ART. There will also be classes and meetings at the Hilton he wants to attend. For this reason, we want to be fairly close to Katella. The rest of us will be spending lots of time at the parks. We will have our car but prefer to walk to the main entrance on Harbor. For that reason, we don't want to be too far down the road. Our boys are 10 and 13 so they can handle a little walk but no one likes a long walk back after a day in the park!

I have suites booked at the Portofino, which seems to be more convenient for my husband's buses, and the Anaheim Plaza Hotel which would be a shorter walk to the parks. The Portofino would have 2 bedrooms (one for DH and me, one for auntie and the 10 year old), and a living room w/sleeper sofa for our older boy and two bathrooms. The Anaheim Plaza would give us 2 connecting rooms, each w/two queen beds (DH, me and a boy in one room, auntie and a boy in the other). We would also get 2 bathrooms.

I'm looking for opinions on whether one hotel is really that much better than the other. I'm also looking for info. on just how far the walks would be both to the parks and to the Hilton or the corner of Harbor/Katella. The costs are pretty similar so that's not an issue. I'm also looking for info. on the little things that make for a good stay such as: is there plenty of parking, do the rooms tend to be overly noisy, etc. The kids will want to use the pool but they're usually happy with any pool.

I've not stayed at the Portofino, but I have stayed at the Anaheim Plaza several times. During my December trip last year, the Anaheim Plaza was booked solid for about half of my stay. However, the hotel was still nice and QUIET! There's also lots of parking, and the pool is HUGE (Olympic sized).
