Just wondering which is the nicer hotel? We will be going in February 2010 and have three girls ages 8, 10, and 12. Thanks for any advice.

We prefer the Royal Pacific Resort because of its laid back atmosphere, and a couple of our favorite restaurants (Tchoup Chop and Jake's Bar) are located there.

However, if I'm reading your post correctly, you'll have 5 in your party, so you might prefer the Hard Rock Hotel because it has larger standard rooms. You might also want to consider the Portofino Bay Hotel too, because its standard rooms are a little bigger than Hard Rock's.

Out of the two we prefer the Hard Rock but do still like the Royal Pacific. They both have totally different themeing. One Pacific Islands with staff who look like they are from exotic places and the other ultra rock n roll with trendy looking staff dressed all in black. The Hard Rock had quite a vibe in the place whereas the Royal Pacific was quieter. The pool area in the Hard Rock has a pool and when we were there had a great entertainer who had the kids up and pretending to play guitars and the like, making quite a party atmosphere. The Hard Rock is also closer to Universal Studios with only about a 10 minute walk from the entrance. The latter park is where we tend to be on a night as there are no water rides. The Royal Pacific is a similar distance from Islands and takes about 15 minutes or so to walk to Universal.

You would enjoy staying at either hotel.

We have stayed at the HRH & will be staying at RPR in Dec. We like to stay at different resorts on trips.

I would do the HRH. Your girls will be so cool when they tell their friends!

if it is just the 4 of you, each hotel has rooms with 2 queen beds.
so you would have 2 to each bed.

if one of the girls wanted a bed to themselves, roll aways cost $25 per night.
if you did this at the RPH, that roll away cuts into the space too much in that room.

all hotels are nice.
ask yourself, what do you want in a room.
more space?
extra sink, bathroom counter area?

RPH does not have the extra sink and counter for a standard room inside the bathroom.
the others do.

We are taking a twin size air matress for our little one. There is always that option if you decide on the RPR.

We have done both RPR and HRH with our daughters, who are ages 11 and 13. They preferred the pool and overall activity/energy level at the HRH and have asked when we can go back. My husband and I liked both...

Never stayed at HRH so cannot really comment on it. But this will be our 4th stay at RPR in July, love the themeing and the pool is biggest of the 3 and never really seems crowded.
Whichever you choose you will not be disappointed

Robert is right you won't be disappointed and RPR is a great hotel :thumbsup2

We enjoy both (well other than horrible customer service at HRH but that has been awhile) but RPR gets the slight lead. We prefer the restaurants and laid back atsmophere. HRH pool is better IMHO

HI caubert,
There are many hotels that really very good.you are asking for nice hotel, I think it's depend on your budget.

We've stayed at all three and tend to switch around. It all depends on what kind of deal we can get.

i have stayed at HRH 19 times and the RPH 1 time. (and once at PBH)

i say try RPH.
you will like it a lot!

you can pool hop to the others. you aren't locked in to the pool at the resort you are staying at.

all have a bath house to change in and towels are provided pool side so you don't have to bring your own.

We just got back yesterday from a 4 night stay at the RPH. We stayed at the HRH 3 years ago. We have one 12 year old daughter. Both hotels are very nice. However, the room at the HRH was bigger and it is so much closer to the theme parks. It was an easy walk from the HRH. My daughter was 9 when we stayed at the HRH and she loved the rock -n- roll theme. For first time I would pick the HRH. Hope you have fun!
:cool1:

We have stayed at both, and I side with Macraven, go with RP. It is ten times more breathtaking then HRH, the lobby will blow you away, and you can still use the pool if you want the slide at HRH. After a while, the music will drive you nuts at HRH, there is no escaping it. The only down side to RP is that it has a longer walk if you don't take the water taxi.
