I have found a lot of info about which hotel to stay at but what about which ones to stay away from. We are going Feb 15th-22nd. There will be 7 of us (DH, 6 year old DD, Myself and DS, BIL, and two 5 year old DN). We spend more time than most at the hotel as we do not want to wear the kids out too much. My DS wants to get a suite but I think 2 rooms would be better. DNs are not always the best behaved and are proned to temper tantums which I have little patience for. I think 2 rooms could give everyone a break when needed. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

These are the ones near Disneyland that, through reading, listening and observing I wouldn't book. Doesn't mean they haven't upgraded but there are plenty of places to chose other than these.
Zaby's
The Sir Rudimar Motel
The Alamo
The Riviera
Samoa ( Now Fantasy Inn )
Parkside Inn and Suites (Not to be confused with the Park Place Inn and Suites OR the Park Inn)
The Frontier Motel
I would be hesitant about the following
Econolodge ( Katella)
The Little Boy Blue
Islander Inn and Suites
The Villager ( formerly Pennysleeper)
The Hacianda

Park Vue

I didn't stay here but the person I spoke with at the front desk when trying to add a day to my reservation was very rude, so I just cancelled instead.

No suggestions on hotels, but a comment.

I strongly agree with you that you should book two rooms, because of the TWO BATHROOMS!!!!
