Which hotel is your recommendation and why?

My favorite onsite? DLH. My favorite off site? I have 3 - Hilton, Candy Cane, and Residence Inn. I have stayed at all of the "Harbor side" motels (except Tropicana or the new Marriott). Some, I won't recommend, some I do. They can be slightly closer. But, there is a big difference in comfort levels. And 3-4 mins isn't a big deal after 10 hours in the park.

How is the Residence Inn? We have reservations there next June because I wanted a two bedroom with three teens. Also, how is the walk?

We really like it. Free hot breakfast each morning. If you need groceries, they will shop for you (drop your list by 9am, they have it put away for you by 3 in your room...) You only pay the grocery bill! (They shop at ALbertsons.) There is a small Market on site. There are two ART stops, one in front by building 6 and one on the backside by Motel 6. If you opt to walk, my kids make the walk in about 10-12 mins (they aren't fast walkers.) I like it for the space!

As much as I LOOVE DLH that walk at night especially or even midday can feel like a hike so I can certainly understand that.
Granted I've never stayed at GCH but plan to someday ( probably via Dapper Day rates) and know it would totally spoil me for location.

Agree 100% with this. Hope you are still enjoying your nice long stay!!!

We always opt for the larger rooms at the DLH because in the end it becomes more important for us to have the space. I have to agree though that sometimes when I get just past the Grand (right about by the Quick Silver store) while walking back to the DLH there is a part of me that thinks......awe, maybe I should have chose the closer Hotel! By the time I finally reach our room at DLH that feeling is short lived and I'm again happy with my decision.

I don't think you can go wrong with either Hotel!
