Right now I have Yacht Club garden view booked over Thanksgiving. I'm not planning on renewing my annual pass, but we might buy some Florida Resident tickets if the crowds aren't too insane for Star Wars, that's a wait and see at the moment.

I'm starting to doubt my hotel choice. Originally wanted to get a Epcot resort to be near the Swan, I'm planning on booking Garden Grove for Thanksgiving dinner. Now I'm wondering if we end up not having tickets at all if I should switch to a club level room, either at Yacht club, Contemporary Theme Park view Club, or Animal Kingdom Lodge club. I've only done club level once at Grand Floridian and really liked it.

I've never gone to Disney without tickets so it seems like a slim chance we will go with nothing. Should I keep what I have or switch to one of the club level rooms instead and which hotel should we do?

If you are eating at Garden Grove, I would stick to an EP area hotel. I honestly wasn't a fan of YC CL when we stayed. It was very crowded and quite noisy. On the other hand, I've loved our YC garden view and water view rooms. Have you considered simply staying at the Swan or even the Dolphin? They are beautiful hotels and typically price out less than WDW deluxes. We are staying in a Grand 2-bedroom Suite at the Dolphin in about a week and the nightly rate is about the same as a standard at the Poly.

When we went for Thanksgiving two years ago we stayed at the Swan. I thought I'd change it up for this trip and stay somewhere else. We are going to Disney this weekend and staying at the Dolphin. I've never stayed at the Yacht Club before.

The Contemporary is very underrated. We've done the theme park view and despite the pre-arrival complaining from my family, we all really liked it. This Thanksgiving we're giving Ft. Wilderness a try. Never stayed there before.

If you have no tickets, AKL is a beautiful, peaceful resort with a great pool and lots of activities at the hotel. My 2nd choice would be Yacht Club since it's so close to the activities on the Boardwalk.

I love the rooms at the Yacht Club. I would save your money and just stay GV, however. If you aren't going to the parks, maybe spring for one of the new SAB cabanas instead!

That's an interesting idea I've never done a cabana before. Do you think the weather will be warm enough for the pool at the end of November?
