We have a friend flying in from Japan the night before we all get to DLR. She needs a hotel for that one night. Any suggestions?

She's considering the following:

Abby's Anaheimer Inn

Anabella Hotel

Best Western-Pavilions

Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Anaheim

Super 8 Anaheim Disneyland Drive

Travelodge Anaheim at Disneyland Drive

Travelodge Anaheim at the Park

We stayed at the Tropicana for one night earlier this year. It was a good deal and very close to DL. We have also been to Best Western Anaheim Inn and Park Vue. Both of those are close and we found good prices on Expedia. I have never been to any of the ones listed above and rarely hear anything about them from others on here.

For one night, I think being right across the street is a good thing. I don't think any of those hotels are terrbiley close to DL. Many will tout themselves as one block but that can be very misleading. Not saying that is the case with those hotels, but I have seen places being listed as quite close to DL and then heard that in fact, they aren't that close.

I hear good things about the Anabella but its a bit further than I like, some say its 20 minutes, other say 15 minutes. That's a bit far for me after a long day at the parks. I am not sure about those others, but don't think they are very close either.

I have also stayed and enjoyed the Tropicana. I also like the Best Western Park Place Inn, the Camelot and the Hojo. All within an easy walk to the main gates.

Thanks for the responses so far. Just to clarify, she won't be going to the parks that day - she just needs a place to crash until we get to DLR the next day.

In that case, I would see how many responses you get here on the dis and also look on Tripadvisor. Since most of those are a bit off the beaten path from Disneyland, you might not get a ton of responses here. Tripadivsor would probably have quite a bit of information, its a huge site. Good luck!

Does she speak english? When I was making my reservation I was told that GCH (and probably the others?) have translators on property at all times. The lady taking my ressie at WDTC said she transtales as one of her duties. She spoke with a heavy japanese accent and only mentioned it because my last name is japanese even though I don't speak a bit . Now really important to me but I thought I'd just pass that along!

Thanks for the replies.

She doesn't speak English well, but she doesn't want to drop the funds for a DLR room for one night.
