If I could pick from any resort then I would say AKL. But, if your BF didn't want to stay at the WL, then there is a good chance he won't like the AKL either. It also depends on what your idea of a good honeymoon is. If you want to get away and relax spending time with each other, the AKL is perfect. But, if you want to spend most of your time at the parks and not be in the resort all that much then you would probably want to be on the Monorail.

Of the ones on your list I would vote for the GF. I have never stayed there, but it looks like it would be romantic.

We stayed 10 nights at the POly this year for our honeymoon, followed by a week at Atlantis in the Bahamas, wish we'd stayed at the POly 17 nights instead, the Atlantis really wasn't our favourite place.

I voted for GF because money is no object, buy then I read that your BF isn't thrilled with it. For the same amount of money, you could do concierage at YC or BW. Both are great hotels for couples, and so close to Epcot. Walking through World Showcase at night is one of the most romantic things to do in all of WDW. Being on the Boardwalk is fun, too. I hear much better reviews of YC and BW concierage than I do for GF concierage.

BWI is our favorite resort. If money were no object, I would book a garden suite there! The atmosphere of the boardwalk is great, but when you're in the garden suites, it's like you're in a totally different resort. Plus, the bathtub (small pool! he he!) alone is almost enough to make me stay there. I don't know where you could find pics though. If your interested, I could probably dig up a few from our stay there! Happy planning!

We stayed at the Poly for our honeymoon. It felt really romantic. We had a beautiful room that looked right at the castle.

It's weird, because while we were there they were BUILDING the GF! :earseek:

NO MONEY FACTOR?! :Pinkbounc :cool1: Rejoice :cool1: :Pinkbounc
Well, go all out! If it was a factor, I would go to the WL! Go for the GF!
Wow! money not a factor....... :cheer2: :jumping4: :cheer2:
Sorry, I can't get over it!

We stayed the 1st 2 nights of our honeymoon in Sept. of 97' at the GF and it was so awesome!! They upgraded us to a suite overlooking the lagoon (we had booked regular GV) when they found out we were on our honeymoon and then went over to the then Dixie landings for the next 7 nights before heading to Disney's Vero beach resort. If $$ were no object, definetly we would have stayed at the GF the entire time we were in WDW! Ah....the memories :)

 Yacht Club Concierge (water view) in a heartbeat! You'll love it. I know wht BF means about GF doing nothing for him. It's nice and all, but the wonderful Boardwalk area and Epcot dining options, walking distance to two parks, romantic water views and great concierge service and amenities, gets me to YC, hands down. BC is almost the same resort, but IMO YC views are superior.

I would stay at the Yacht Club. I just love it there, it's beautiful and I love being so close to Epcot center. The whole area is so romantic at night and you can't beat the views from the YC water view, the Boardwalk lights and the lake..ahhhh beautiful.

They have a lovely quiet pool, if you want to stay away from the crowds. There are a ton of restaurants all within walking distance because you have the YC, BC, Dolphin and Boardwalk right near by.

Sure the GF nice and so is the monorail but you can't beat the Epcot resort area for choice of night time activities right near by.

I've stayed at every one of those resorts.

I stayed at the GF twice, and am still not sure why it's so highly regarded. The service there ranges from spotty to poor.

The Polynesian is great, and if you book waterview concierge you'll have a magnificient view, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

The YC I just didn't really care for due to a lot of small reasons.

The BC is fun but there are a lot of kids there it seems.

The BWI would be my #1 choice. Not many kids seem to stay there. It's quiet, and such a convenient walk to Epcot and MGM, and there are so many dining options a few minutes walk away. Additionally the nightlife there is a blast.

If you can swing it, I'd book a CL room to be wonderfully pampered!

Congratulations!

I used to feel very strongly that the only place I will stay is the Grand Floridian. But as part of a young couple, with no children, I ran into two main problems with that opinion:

1.) too many little children everywhere there (and I don't mean that at all as a knock on children or on Disney. I know Disney is for children and I agree, but for some reason, everytime we stay at the GF, I feel overwhelmed by the strollers in the lobby. Maybe because the lobby is the most themed for adults that I notice it more there, I don't know, but for that reason it has moved to the resort I will frequent when we have children).

2.) DH doesn't really like it very much.

So in the last few years, we've stayed at GF, YC, Swan, Cont, WL, AKL, BWI. Our new favorite, as a couple, is the Yacht Club. Definitely water view (and make sure you get a good view--the corner room we had was great) and concierge. I think that would be very romantic and more laid back/adult-like.

However, since no one mentioned it, I will also say that I have heard the Garden Suites at the Boardwalk Inn are very romantic and more special than the basic rooms there. I have not stayed in a GS, but a regular room with a good view at the BWI, and while I'd chose YC over BWI in a second for the basic room, I'd give serious thought to doing one of the Garden Suites. They seem like a romantic and special treat.

Good luck!

GF for sure and don't forget a wonderful dinner at Victoria and Albert's. We just returned from WDW and had a superb dinner there! Can't wait to go back again. ::MinnieMo

I noticed a few others had mentioned it also, I would go for a Boardwalk garden suite. You're in a great location, with Epcot and MGM being within walking distance. Plus, the Boardwalk has so much and it's great in the evening.

YC no question. My DW and I honeymooned there back in 98. We had a great water-view room looking out onto Crescent Lake. Not only do you have the ability to walk/boat to two different parks, but you also have the Boardwalk for night life within walking distance as well.

Plus...you have the best pool in the entire world.

We got married last July and went to Grand Floridian for our honeymoon. It was very nice and elegant. We had a lagoon view room which was great but if you do book go for a bigger room than a standard lagoon view. We were very happy with ours don't get me wrong I just think that the stay would be nicer if you had a larger room like the octagonal rooms that they have available.

Hee hee hee - it's a honeymoon, yet people are talking about being in walking distance to theme parks. ;)

I'd have to say the Polynesian - there's just something relaxing and refreshing about the lush gardens, the sandy beaches and the tiki torches at night. DW and I stayed there last year (LV Conc) for our first 'empty nester' trip to WDW, and we both commented on how conducive the place was to romance - particularly walking the paths at night, with the torches lit and the polynesian music coming from the plant and trees.

Plus, if you do manage to leave the room, you can stagger to the monorail stop or the TTC for Epcot ....

DMen- That's how we felt about the GF also. We thought there were many more children there than at the YC. Once again... it is WDW so completely understandable but for a honeymoon or an adult only trip we thought that it was quieter etc at YC. We thought the romance quality was way up there and the service was just perfect.

We stayed 9/27/04- 10/2/04- Hurricane Jean ruined our honeymoon suite that we had booked and to make a long story short, the staff was horendous (sp?). They did everything wrong, even accused me of lying. The concierge manager yelled at me on the phone when I asked for the refund for the difference of the room we paid for and the room we got. She then apologized saying she hadn't even checked before opening her mouth. We WERE VERY disappointed for the money we spent. THree months later, we got an apology and a refund at least. I would hope that this was an isolated case, but when I posted about it, many replied telling me that they had also had bad expierences there. The place is beautiful, it is a shame we were treated so badly.

I voted for the Poly because it is my favorite resort. I think the feel of it is very romantic, especially in the evening. GF is a little too "fancy" for my taste. I also like the WL, I think that if that's your style...that can be very romantic as well.

I can't speak for the others because I've never visited them but my vote goes to the Poly....good luck and I'm sure whatever you decide, you'll be happy. Congrats and good luck!
