Hello,

We are planning a trip for next summer. YAH!!:cool1:

To those of you that have stayed at Disneyland Paris hotels or hotels near by. Could you please tell me which hotel you think is best for a family of 4 ( 2 adults and 2 kids)?:)

And which hotel would you recommend for staying in Paris? Or do you think it is better to just stay at the hotel near Disneyland the whole time? and go by train to Paris?

Thanks again!!

hi,
We have just stayed at the davy crockett ranch which was fab but you need transport to get you there and back like a hire car but the added benefits of a self catering cabin, fab pool area and animal enclosure, onsite playground etc.

We have also stayed in the newport bay hotel which was nice and spacious with 2 large beds in the room and a lovely view. the breakfast was good and the pool area was nice (but not as fantastic as the davy ranch!!)

Not really sure about staying in paris but Im sure some other experts will be able to help you out on that one.

Hi, I stayed at the Explorer Hotel last week which is 5mins by shuttle bus away from the parks. The hotel is very centred around kids. There was 6 of us so we had a crew room which sleeps 4 and an adjoining bunk room. You could also book this room for just the 4 of you if you and your partner what privacy from the kids.

I would highly recommend this hotel, we couldnt find fault in any way.

Hope this helps

Hi there.

we have had the pleasure at staying at all the Disney and partner hotels. If Disney is your main focus, then stay in the resort and travel into Paris. If DLP will account for less than 50% of your time, then opt for Paris.

My reviews are as follows:

The Holiday Inn is the best value accomodations in the area with a 4 star hotel at budget prices.

If you must have the Disney magic, then the Sequoia Lodge offers the best value, ameneties and pool.

For the best service and sense of luxury, then the Hotel New York is excellent.

And for the best Disney magic on a budget, then I recommend the Cheyenne.

And for self catering, the Marriott Vacation club offers wonderful houses on the DLP golf course.

Thanks I looked up prices for cost of hotel and couldn't get it to come up I guess because it was booked? I was just trying for this June to see what kind of rates would be for next June. But other hotel came up also called the Dream Castle Hotel? What do you think about this one? The price said I think $161.00 US dollars? for one room that holds the 2 of us? How much would the Explores hotel cost for the us 4 in one room?
Thanks!!!:)

Thanks for the info. Is the Holiday Inn by Disneyland? What does self catering mean? for the Marriott club?
Is there any hotel in Paris that you think would be good also??? If we were to say in Paris for hafe the time and then hafe the time near Disneyland?
Thanks:)

Hi, Ive just checked on the hotel website and the cost for one night in June this year is 207 euros but it does depend in what date in June you are thinking of staying as they do offer discount rates for certain dates, and I guess the more nights you stay the less you pay per night.

The Dream Castle hotel was virtually next door and it did look a nice hotel however I did not go inside and have not stayed there, but that also caters for children

Thanks!! Its odd when I tried any date on their web site it sad no rooms try another date? At least I kind of know the cost range now.:woohoo: Can't wait till next year!!!

We've stayed onsite at Seq Lodge - which was so-so but handy for walking to and from the parks.

WE have also stayed offsite at the Marriot ( 3 times now)which is very luxurious (but sometimes pricey) and has the benefit of separate bedrooms.

It depends as others have said how much Disney you want to have. My preference is the Marriot but I do think for a short trip a Disney hotel would be better.:cloud9:

To book Dream Castle Hotel try sterlinghotels website (com). I also tried to book via different websites and faced the same problem. Have not been there yet, but believe (according to reviews) that it is a good choice.

Good luck.

We have stayed at the holiday Inn and Explorers which are both great for families. Take alook at the reviews to get a better idea.

Reviews of the other disney hotels are also on the hotel thread.

We are about to stay at the Dream Castle so I will write a review when I get back..

The hotels just off site work out to be cheaper for us which is why we stay there, they are only a 10 minute shuttle bus away.

We have stayed twice at Santa Fe which is the cheapest on site hotel. Although the facilities were basic (no swimming pool) we were happy with the hotel and would certainly stay there again. The rooms have 2 double beds so obviously your children would need to share.
The Cheyenne which is only slightly more expensive offers bunk beds.

We have also spent a few nights at Explorers which we really like and worked out about the same as Santa Fe but facitilities were better- pool and large indoor play area. We still felt part of the magic as the hotel was themed as Disney hotels are.

We are staying this summer at Holiday Inn which also looks good and does great rates- look at their website as lots of pictures there.

I think you need to decide how much time you will spend in the hotel whether its worth having extra facilities etc.

We were happy staying in Santa Fe as we didnt spend any time there apart from sleeping so didnt miss having pool etc.

Advantages of being on site are:
Nice distance to walk to parks
EMH
GMF breakfast available

Hotels off site are
usually cheaper -or same price but for better star rating but for us slightly too far to walk to parks (although I think some people have)
Cant have GMF
Can only get EMH if got annual pass.

There are 4 main ones all next to each other- Holiday Inn, Explorers, Dream Castle and ?? They all have free shuttle to the parks and really are part of the Dis magic as they are so close (closer than DCR)

We stayed in Paris in Hotel Wallace- found it on last minute .com We were happy with the hotel but again it was very basic with no facilities as such but we didnt want anything as we were out and about all day and evening. However this was a separate trip - just to do Paris we didnt visit DLP (although we were tempted!!!):rotfl2:

My opinion is to see Paris at its best you need to actually stay there but if all you want to do is have a quick visit there to see the main sites you could easily stay in DLP and travel there for a trip.

Sorry, I suppose I have lived away from the states too long. Self Catering means there is a kitchen so you can cook if you would like. The appeal for us is we can do laundry with our toddlers. The Marriott is basically a bunch of two bedroom condos in the golf course, a little like the DVC. The houses have 2 bedrooms (and a sleeper sofa in the living room), 2.5 bathrooms, a full kitchen and a living room with DVD and stereo. It is also air conditioned.

Holiday Inn, the Kyriad, Dream Castle and Explorers Hotel are literally across the street from Disney's Santa Fe.

Disney Fans - since you are most familiar with WDW, this may help you.

DLP as a resort area is probably about the same size as the Epcot and MGM resort area. The Santa Fe and Cheyenne are like small All Stars with no pools, aircon or fridges.

The Sequoia Lodge is like a moderate version of Wilderness Lodge. The Newport Bay Club looks a little like the Yacht and Beach Club, but with moderate ameneties. The HNY is like the Swan and Dolphin and the Disneyland Hotel is a little like the Grand Floridian. All of them are in area the size of the Boardwalk, Yacht Club and Beach Club. The Santa Fe is the furthest away from the parks but still about a 15 - 20 min walk or a free bus ride.

The partner hotels - Holiday Inn etc. are across the street from the Santa Fe and to be honest, if you are not worried about characters and theming in the hotels (though they are lightly french themed), they offer much better value than the Disney hotels as all of them have pools and air con.

The Golf Course is about 1 mile from the parks and has the Marriott Vacation Club and the Radison SAS. They both offer bus service, but limited.

The Davy Crockett Ranch is 4 miles from the parks and is like a scaled down Fort Wilderness Campground. You must have a car to stay there however.

The Val De Europe is a new town a little like Celebration including a huge mall and designer outlet, and a great aquarium. The Pierre and Vacance offer appartments and the Elysee (owned by Disney, but more business like - no characters) can be found here. There are bus and train services to the parks.

There is a railway station at the entrance to the parks that offers a 45 min train journey to Paris.

We can't help on the PAris side as I am not a big fan of the city with the exception of some of the key tourist site - Louvre, Eiffel Tower Notre Dame etc. My wife had been to DLP 8 times before she ever saw the city!!!
