Which hotel for 10 year anniversary trip?

My DH and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary in December. I'll be using hilton or marriott points and am trying to choose between two hotels. On our actual anniversary we want to eat at Jaleo. We have been before and absolutely loved it! I was initially thinking of staying at the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace for easy access to Disney Springs, but now I have started looking into Gaylord Palms because it will be around Christmas time and it looks like they have a lot of Christmas stuff. I then started looking at the Old Hickory Steakhouse for our anniversary dinner instead. We def want a pool day (weather permitting) and will go to Epcot one day. Which would be better?

Gaylord! Beautiful at Christmas, real treat! Get an atrium room.

HBVP is just an average hotel. Pool is very nice, location good, but nothing special.

I did not eat there. Peeked at it and I think the atmosphere is so cool. We spent so much time wandering the whole place - they actually had a holiday scavenger hunt we enjoyed - and made us wander every corner of atrium.

GP is a much nicer resort. Be sure to include resort and packing fees when comparing resorts.

I won't have to pay the resort fee at the BVP but I would at GP

I have a Free Night Certificate that is good for up to 35000 pts. The Swan is usually around 50,000 pts. Right now the GP is sitting at 37,000 pts so I would just need to supplement 2,000 pts to stay there instead of 15,000.

We haven't stayed at the GP, but we did go there for their christmas stuff a few years ago and it was awesome!!! Parking was insanely expensive though.

There's nothing in Orlando I would pick over Jaleo. Magic.

I would recommend Signia Bonnet Creek or Waldorf Astoria Orlando, both are beautiful resorts with great top notch restaurants, pools, complimentary transportation to WDW parks, etc.. I would also recommend calling the hotel directly and mentioning that you are celebrating an anniversary!
