Planning a sudden trip the second week of October. My DH wants to use Holiday Inn Priority Points for our stay. Which HI near Disneyworld is the best? We have two children - 5 and 7.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Ironicallyn now that the HIFS is the Nick hotel-- I don't think there really is too many nice Holiday Inn's in the WDW area left. I'd guess the only really decent one I can think of would be the one in DTD.

I've never read too much about any of the HI Expresses on the boards. Though we've found them to be pretty nice elsewhere. There was one by Old Town, but I think #1 it changed hands, and #2 it was really run down. Same goes for the HI Nikki Bird.

The HI Sunspree gets mixed reviews on the boards. I'd do a search of the review board for it.

The Nick hotel IS a Holiday Inn. However it takes alot of points to stay there, usually 27000 points a night. It is by far the best holiday inn in the Orlando area if you have kids....TAZ

We stayed at Crowne Plaza Universal Blvd. w/Priority Club points. It was very nice... but not as close to WDW as the others mentioned. If I remember correctly it was a 15 minute drive to DT Disney. I highly recommend this hotel if the drive to WDW is not an issue.

I suggest you give the sunspree a try - we stayed there several years ago and there was a separate bunkbeds room for the kids - a little privacy for parents and kids. 2 tvs, too, I think. Their direct website is www.kidsuites.com and the room type I refer is a kidsuite. I'm not sure if you can get a kidsuite with reward nights - might be worth a call.

My brother used PC points to stay there, and they had a great time. It's also pretty close to Downtown Disney.

Try the Staybridge Suites in Lake Buena Vista, located right beside the Cypress Pointe Resort, very close to Downtown Disney. We've stayed there several times with our boys, 7 and 11. You'll use fewer points there than at Nick Hotel and get a free, hot, buffet breakfast every morning. Nick Hotel is fun, but on a "free hotel nights" trip we want to spend our time in the parks, not in the hotel pool. Have a great trip!

I'm suprising my family with a quick trip to All Stars Music Oct 5-9 at the AP rate. They think we're going to the beach for the weekend. Can't wait to see their faces when we turn off the highway to go to the airport instead! Pixiedust for everyone!
