Which handicapped accessible preferred room to request @ POP?

When you make a reservation and ask for a room with roll in shower, the reservation CM needs to call Special Needs to check whether or not there is a room with a roll in shower available for that date/resort.

It's possible that a Preferred Room opened up between the time you first called and when you called Special Needs. So, that might be the reason why you could have not gotten the room the first time.

Are there only king size beds in HA with roll in showers? We reserved one at POP through TA and she said double beds were available but she also said we got Hopper passes too and she didn't put those in (AAA). So I want to make sure about the beds. I have to have my own bed. And we'll have two ECV's in our room and if the roll in shower takes up more room we need a regular HD room. Roll in isn't a absolute necessity. I didn't ask for it but she booked it. Thanks

I think you have a bad (not just poor) travel agent. The accessible rooms with roll-in showers are harder to get than accessible with tubs. If you do not need the RIS then TA should not have asked for one. This takes availability away from others.

And yes, at some locations there are accessible rooms with two doubles instead of a king.

There are different configurations of rooms at most resorts, some with doubles and some with a King in the fully accessible room. I'm not absolutely sure about POP since those rooms are smaller than the moderate rooms. I know at the moderates there are roll in shower King and double rooms. Someone who has stayed at POP will probably answer.

If you have not looked at the disABILITIES FAQs thread, you might want to look there at the information about rooms/accommodations. There are pictures of a roll in shower and a tub with grab bars.
Since you booked with a travel agent, WDW may not talk to you, so if you want to check out more about the room/room assignment, your agent may have to call the Special Needs Department for you (your agent actually owns the reservation until a few days before you go and everything has to go thru the agent.)
Also, if you find 2 ECVs won't fit in the room, you can usually arrange for the Front Desk/Bell Services to store one. You would have to go get it each day, but that may work for you.
