Which grocery stores are close to SSR?

We are staying there in less than 2 weeks. We are also driving for the first time in almost 8 years. We will be able to hit the grocery store on our own without the 30 min. car service stop. I sure hope we can find things.

As a local, I prefer Publix. The closest Publix to SSR is:
Regency Village Shopping Center (Store #00812)
8145 Vineland Ave
Orlando, FL 32821-6847

This one is located behind the Premium Outlets just off of South International Drive.

There is also a Winn-Dixie, it is fairly new. You turn left from Hotel Resorts Blvd and it's about a mile on the right. They have a shopper card and I always thought their prices were good.

In that same plaza is alos a liquor store and Papa Johns Pizza. Across the street of it is a Walgreens or CVS! It's a convenient area!

If you prefer walyworld (Walmart) or Target, they are a right off from Hotel Blvd. The 1st Walmart is usually REALLY busy no matter what time you are there and may actually be a bit more pricey that even other walmarts. Further on Vinelad/Apopka it connects to Irlo Bronson Highway. A left turn onto Irlo Bronson Hghwy takes to you Target (almost right after turning) and eventually another Walmart. The target has good prices for souvenier type Disney stuff... found nice pins for like 3.95 or 4.95.

We like the Publix mentioned by pp - it is nice and clean, and much cheaper than the Goody's (?) that is close to DW. They also have lots of Disney merchandise there - but that is true of any retail location in Orlando!

Stay away from Goodings Market near DTD. We thought most items were way overpriced compared to the Publix.

It is a relatively new store.

No card needed. They price match their competitors if you show the cashier the competition's ad.

I also shop at the Winn Dixie and have a shopper card for extra discounts. ABC Liquor is in front of it so in case you need more than beer & wine.
For me, time is money in Disney. I would rather shop close and be done with it. Better things to do in WDW than food shop. I'm afraid if I went to the Super Wal-Mart, I would be wandering in there for a couple of hours. I can putz in Wal-Mart at home.

Most folks like the publix a little more, but for some reason I find it a lot harder to get to than the winn dixie, so I go to the latter.

If you are driving in and have a BJ's membership there is a BJ's right off I-4 at the Millenium Mall exit you can see it from I-4). We stop there prior to checking in and load up on gas,water, snacks and everything else we need. This way we only have to have the stuff in the car for about 30 minutes rather than driving 10+ hours with it in the car. It's only about 15 minutes(if that) from SSR (we stayed at POR and went there for emergency items as well).
