Which Good Neighbor Hotels accommodate 6 people?

My sister won a trip to Disneyland on the radio. Her family consists of her, husband, two boys 8 and 6 and one-year-old daughter. They don't know which Disney Hotel they will be staying at yet. I am going to go at the same time but I can't stay in their room because the Disney hotels only allow 5 people in the room which includes the baby. Since the prize only covers two nights they are going stay another night but not at the Disney hotel. My thought is I will stay at a Good Neighbor that could accommodate all of us in one room for their extra night. I'll just change rooms for that one night.

I like to stay close enough to walk to the park. My go-to location was the Carousel Inn (RIP). Does anyone have suggestions for a close by hotel that can put 6 people in a room for one night? We don't have our dates yet but probably in May.

The new Residence Inn on Katella is really nice and can sleep 6. Springhill Suites is on the corner of Harbor and Katella. Hyatt Place I think sleeps 6.

Congratulations to your sister ! !

Our group of 5 just got back from a TV/Radio contest win. We stayed at DLH !
My first choice was for DGC, but by the time I got my confirmation there were no rooms available for there.
DLH was lots of fun ! We even went swimming ! ! (this was Dec 1 -4th).
If your request is for DLH and you or your children have a hard time sleeping, if in the Adventure Tower and are on the DTD side you can hear the bass/drums into the early evening. I'm not sure if for nap time that might also be an issue or not as when we went back to our room we would nod off easily from being tired. Also, leaving the room fan on was helpful like a white noise background. They let us include an extra night with a room discount.

oops, I got off your topic.......

Any hotels on Katella might have a different route to get to DTD and then to DL / DCA with the new security being put into place.
So if walking take that into consideration. And check that out.

I haven't stayed off property for a few years, but just wanted throw in a couple of things to consider.

Not Good Neighbor Hotels, but Dessert Inn and Suites (no frills basic) on Harbor and Grand Legacy have suites.
I've heard pro-cons on both, but that's as with any hotel.

Have fun ! ! ! !

We are going to be staying at Desert Inn & Suites this summer for the first time. They have a few different suite configurations. Ours has 1 1/2 baths. Not as good as two full bathrooms, but better than one! Camelot also has suites that sleep 6, with one bathroom. Best Western Park Place Inn & Mini Suites technically sleep 6, but the two kids would have to share a sofa bed, which would be a pretty tight fit, and it has one bathroom. It also is just one longer room divided by a half wall, not two rooms.

That is awesome, congratulations to your sister!
You may consider the Fairfield Inn for your stay, then switch to the Courtyard for the whole family the last night.
(The Courtyard rooms are 530 sq. ft., and sleep 6.)
There are a few other hotels right there too, but I have not stayed in them.
The hotels are next door to each other, so they could hold your suitcase for the hotel switch.
It is nice to be able to walk across the street to DL. Just a 5 - 10 minute walk.
We like the McDonalds for breakfast, that is in front of the Fairfield Inn.
The Fairfield Inn and new Courtyard are on Harbor Blvd., (across the street from Space Mountain).
The Courtyard has a little Waterpark area that the kids would love. (You could use the Waterpark the morning of the last day, then head out.)
Have a great trip!

Do the rooms that fit 6 have 1 or 2 bathrooms?

Depends on the specific room you reserve, you need to check each location and see what they offer.

For example, there are multiple Residence Inn's in the area, and they have different layouts. Most of the rooms only have one bathroom, but a few have 2. (Of course, they cost a bit more)

Take advantage of the TripAdvisor search engine and enter your party of 6 (X amount of Adults and X amount of kids).

I'll admit that the security changes have me rethinking strategies I've used for years.

Cinder-ellah - It's interesting that you were able to get an extra night at a discount. A different sister (I have 5 sisters) won a trip last year. They stayed at the GCH and paid for 2 extra nights without discount. I thought they were nuts.

Thanks for the good suggestions everyone.

Thank you!

Desert Inn & Suites has a number of different configurations that can sleep 6+ people. Some of their suites have 1.5 bathrooms and some have 2. Clean, close and although it is not amazing, there is a breakfast included as well.

The Residence Inn is set up like condos...two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a pull out bed in the living room, full kitchen. My full family (my brother+wife and two kids, my mom, and me, have stayed there for a weekend trip with no problems. You have to buy bus passes to get to/from the parks, but they run regularly. Free breakfast, and I think there's a pool, but we never used it.
