If you had your choice of the BW Park Place Inn, Carousel Inn & Suites or Tropicana Inn & Suites. Which would you prefer & why?

They're all close to each other & right across the street from Disneyland. Tropicana is most budget conscious. Are all 3 hotels about the same in room ammenities, etc?

we're staying at the tropicana in october for our DL trip. i don't know much about the other two hotels, but i do know that tropicana offers breakfast "refreshments"...coffee, tea, and pastries. they sell cereal, milk, bagels, etc for $1 each (i think). i know other hotels have continental breakfasts that include cereal, milk, etc...

other than that, i've heard great things about tropicana (which is why we booked there)....plus, i think it's the hotel RIGHT ACROSS from the DL. :)

Carousel Inn & Suites-dont stay there lot of bad bad reviews here and trip adversity.
try desert inn or hojos. or even camolot inn they were good last year

Of the ones listed I would stay at the Carousel again, the rooms were quite big, the breakfast was better, we had really good staff, we got a late check out on our last day and they have a really good "free" day room and free luggage storage, the rooms had a good sized microwave and fridge. But as Jadestar has said it has had some recent bad reviews so we are tossing up between Carousel and Camelot at the moment.

It wasn't in your choices, but we did Desert Inn and Suites.

Our room was clean, management was nice, we would stay there again.

My complaints..

lack of wi-fi in room
continental breakfast hours

the breakfast hours started at 7:30.. park opened at 8, we went to the park a half hour early, therefore, no free breakfast.. which was one of the reasons we were staying there.. but again, we'd stay there again.

From those choices? Tropicana. None of them have a very good breakfast so we don't factor that in. The rooms at BWPPI & Trop were similar, the Trop was a bit farther but we loved the pool area. We would definitely stay there again.

camolot also has view of firework in the room i was in 404. (room 402-408 i think would have good views)

I have stayed at all three so I'll try to help. BWPPI is the closest of all the hotels. Literally at the light. It's rooms are slightly larger than the others. It has the best breakfast but that's not saying much. But typically it is also the most expensive. The Tropicana is the next closest, and next in quality. Carousel and Tropicana rooms are similar in size, breakfast similar. I'd pick whichever was cheaper. Carousel gets lower reviews but it also was recently renovated which may improve it. I have not stayed there since the remodel. I also would recommend the Camelot. Better breakfast, good views, but a bit further down (like 500 feet, no biggie). Any would be fine in my mind. I was satisfied with all of them, but then, I'm not real picky either. HTH

(BTW for my next trip I'm staying at the Camelot in a Suite, since the view suite at Carousel is already full. My family grew so now I need a suite or two rooms, so suite it is)
