If you had the choice and the money would you buy a WII, a PS3, or the XBox?
I don't want to buy one that no one uses. I want one with the largest selections of games and easy to use. The WII seems to be fadind out and not as popular anymore but you can exercise with it. I know nothing about the PS3 or XBox.:confused3

You really need to do some research before buying a gaming system. There is plenty of information on the internet. I agree, that I would not get a Wii. You can get exercise games for the other systems, but xBox has an advantage over PS3 because of Kinect.

Either the Xbox360 or PS3 would be good choices. Graphically, I think PS3 may be a little ahead, plus it doubles as a blu-ray player if that is important to you. We have an Xbox360 and my husband plays Call of Duty, Skyrim, and also plays the Mass Effect & Bioshock games when the new ones come out every so often. If you are wanting to play online with other people, I think Xbox has a much better "live" function than PS3.

Now, Xbox is coming out with the Xbox 720 at some point...maybe late this year or it could be next year...but I'm not sure if you want to wait that long to get a gaming system.

I haven't played Xbox Kinect or the PS3 version whatever it's called but I think for the most part people don't use it unless you have really young kids. We also have a Wii and never use it...it seriously has not been turned on in a year. The games on the Wii are really only good for really young kids (12 and under) or for fun adult gettogethers.

Who is going to play it? What are their ages? Have you played video games before? What genre of games do you like (party games, sports, platformers, role-playing, puzzle etc. etc. etc.)? Is playing online important to you? Do you want it to do other things besides games?

You don't just go out and pick one. Think about who is playing it, and what kind of games they like. Do some research. Like if Mario was important to you, you HAVE to get a Wii because you can only play Mario on a Nintendo system. Same as you can only play Halo on an Xbox. These are called "exclusive" games. Figure out the exclusives that are important, if any. Figure out which system tends to have what you like to play. Make sure it does what you want to do, then buy.

We still like our Wii - and games tend to run cheaper than for the other consoles. That being said, I think Nintendo is releasing a new console in the next year or so and if I were going out to buy a new system, I probably would not buy the Wii - UNLESS, you have kiddos who love Mario and want to play Mario-ish games and you need affordability, since a Wii runs about half the price of the others.

We got an Xbox 360 with Kinect for Christmas (Black Friday special) and we love, love, love it! Gotta have the Kinect bundle - we have several dance games and I don't think we have even touched the controllers. It has been very fun and I actually can't believe it took us so long to get one. At the same time, it also offers the Xbox Live online gaming capability and more teen/adult audience games for the more hardcore gamer (which we are not).

We have all of the above and find that there isn't much difference between the PS3 and Xbox for what we use it for.

One thing to remember, if your planning on playing games online, that Xbox charges around $50 per year more or less depending on sales. PS3 is free to play online. Xbox has better online options but your paying for it.

We have an XBox, Wii and used to have a PS3. The PS3 died and we only used it to watch blu-rays so we just bought a blu-ray player instead of replacing it. There are just too few PS3 exclusive games for my DH. We really like the Kinect but we only have a few games we really like. Also as for XBox live, you can usually find it at a discount from sources other than Mircosoft. My DH has never payed full price for it. The Wii hardly ever gets turned on.

I have the Xbox with Kinect and we love it! I sold my Wii and all the games to my husbands co-worker and bought the Xbox. We use it mainly for the Kinect. I like that you don't have to use a controller. I also got a $80 gift card for free from Target over Christmas.

I am having a House Party for the new Pixar/Disney Rush game which I got for free. So far we have the Adventures Game, Zumba, Disneyland Adventures, Once Upon A Monster, Kinnectamals, and Joy Ride.

The graphics are a step up from the Wii and I do use it to view Blu Rays.

We have a Wii. We've had it for years and the kids still love it, but they are Mario junkies. The guy I'm dating got the XBox with Kinect at Christmas and I don't really like it. It seems like everyone is constantly struggling to get the Kinect sensor to work right. Once it gets going, it seems to be okay, but getting the games to start is a pain.

We have a Wii and an Xbox. My 15 year old DS exclusively plays the xbox, while the wiii is more of a family system (mainly is played by 10 year old DD, though). LOL She loves Mario Kart and will sometimes race her friends through the online feature. :)

If I was purchasing a system today, I'd go with the wii.

We have and enjoy all three. When a game is available for all consoles, we always buy it for the XBox 360 and that's the system that we use far more than the other two. It has the best online play and better downloadable content than the other two. We use the PS3 for Blu-rays and PS3 exclusive games. We use the Wii for Nintendo exclusive games.

We really enjoy Kinect when we are playing as a family or when we have friends over. The games tend to be a little silly but they are fun. After we figured out the best placement for the sensor and where to stand while we play it has worked really well for us.

If I was buying only one console for adults and older kids I would get the 360. For younger kids I'd get the Wii. For a family, if I could get two I'd get the 360 and the Wii. The PS3 would be a distant third. However, I would not get a Wii right now. Nintendo has confirmed that their new console (currently names the Wii U) is coming out later this year and I would wait to see if I'd prefer the new one, or if the Wii price will drop. More details - including the price of the Wii U - should be released in early June and there's no way I would buy a Wii before that.

we have 3 all, Wii, PS3 and Xbox

It really depends on who is playing it.

Our Wii hasn't been played with in MONTHS!!! Might even be reaching a year. It was nice when DS was younger (he's almost 13) and we played a lot of Mario but it seems he out grew that. Been thinking of selling the Wii to tell you the truth.

PS3, he used to play it a lot. Now we mainly just use it as a blu-player in the living room.

Xbox, he got this for Christmas last year. This he will play all the time (if I let him) He likes Xobx the most because he can play and talk on-line with this friends.

So depending on the age and the gaming style of who will be playing it, I would say Xbox would be recommendation.
