DD, DH and I arrive in WDW at noon on WEd Dec. 8th. I KNOW we'll want to go to the parks the next day (the 9th) so we will be using up an admission day on DH's PH (dd and I have AP). Here's my dilemma...MIL arrives MCO at 3pm on Thurs. Dec 9th...she says she'll be ready to go that evening. Should we use a park day for her and go to MGM for Osborne Lights/Fantasmic, or go to MVMCP? She will only be able to go to the parks on Fri/Sat/Sun, and at 72 I don't think we'll go all three days...at least, I won't, and I'm only 40somethingish...! Can't decide what to do, as it may be her only "chance" to see either MGM or MK...current plan is to spend all day in Epcot Fri, topped off with CP dinner pkg and Illuminations. Anyone have any planning suggestions? Thanks for any help!

I agree. I mean we haven't see the Osborne lights, but after you walk through, then what? With the MMCMP, the park stays open until 12, but you need a seperate ticket to get into that event, so you will not be using your ph. :teeth:

I would definitely go the MVMCP. with osborne, yeah they're super lights, but that it, you walk through and you're done. at the party, even if she doesn't do a signle ride, she can see fireworks in the round, a parade, xmas shows, snow falling on main street, etc. I really think its no contest. One question I do have is what about epcot, I would think someone that age would like the candlelight processional alot and then you could stay for illuminations.

TigerLaw, we are going to Epcot on Friday. I know how we travel, and we will need a late morning after our first full park day. I'm thinking MVMCP on Thursday evening with MIL, then sleep in on Friday and start at Epcot via the Boardwalk and International Gateway...work our way thru England and Canada (or maybe France/Morocco/Japan, lunch in either Morocco or Japan, then England and Canada), then future world, then back towards Intnl Gateway along the Mexico/Norway side of world showcase. We have seats for the 6:45 CP, followed by dinner in the Biergarten and then Illuminations. I know, big day followed by easy day on Sat., maybe late entry to MGM and stay for Fantasmic/Osborne...or hop over to MK for Wishes/Spectro (if they are showing it), then finish up on Sat. at AK...if it isn't too much!!!

Holly,

All I have to say is you make some beautiful babies! I'd love to see you and your husband's to see where those gene's come from! ;) Those girls look like 20 y/o beauty queen faces put onto little bodies, especially the mature looking face of the girl on the left. I have 3 girls. Maybe I should post our 9 month old in my sig. She is pretty cute too. I like the personal touch on this board.

If I had to choose, Id pick MVMCP over the lights at MGM... BUT... we really love the lights at mgm too. Theres so much to do at the party without riding a single ride! Walking down Main Street in the snow, watching all of the special Christmas shows, the Christmas parade, the special fireworks, free hot chocolate and cookies all night !! The snow on Main street alone is worth the party admission. If your MIL says shes ready to go on Thursday, then Id definately go to MVMCP! If you get there after 4, you wont use up a hopper day on your pass. All you need is theparty ticket to get in. They are a bit cheaper if you buy them in advance too. You already have Epcot planned for Friday. Id try to get to WS when it opens at 11. Try and see the special holiday storytellers too. There is one at every country at different times throughout the day. Just remember that future world closes at 7pm except for a few of the bigger rides and attractions ( test track, mission space, HISTA, maybe Ellens Energy Adventure, are all open later than 7). If you are intereseted in seeing AK, you can get there and be done in half a day. You could go back to the room, rest, and head over to Magic Kingdom in the evening and catch Spectromagic. Then you can spend Sunday at MGM. Get a Fantasmic dinner package, and afterwards you can go see the lights. We are eating at hollywood & vine on thanksgiving because they didnt charge any more for the fantasmic package like the other restaurants did. Its a buffet. My DH mother went with his brothers family while we were there too. She's in her mid 70's and I never thought she be able to do a full commando style week with 5 little kids. SHe did!!!!! She was out everyday at all the parks walking from open till close ( in January). what a trooper! If you take it easy, you can still go everyday, hit all the parks and she will get to see a lot at all 4 of them.
