We will be going to Disney in September either staying at the Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom or Boadwalk. Which Maclaren stroller should I buy the Triumph, Quest or Techno. My son will be 18 months old and he is tall. If you would recommend another stroller, let me know..... I really want a basket underneath. Also, do the add on cupholders work? I have a Skip Hop Duo, will that be too heavy to attach to either of these?

Thanks!

I don't think the Triumph reclines so that narrows it down to the two models. Edit: Just found out the 2007 Triumphs do recline for baby!. And I don't think these brands have cupholders. The maclarens tend to tip over with heavy bags (when you remove baby.) However, I think everyone raves that the Maclarens will take you from baby to 6 years old quite easily.

Can't go wrong with either one.

I have a Quest and love it! The basket underneath is small and you cant fold the stroller with anything in it. The Quest is a bit wider than then Triumph or Techno?? plus it has a pull out leg extension which is nice (some others may also have this??). It reclines, not flat back, but enough, and I can pull the shade down and hide my dd.

Macs are tippy with a bag on the back. I counter this with a 3 lb ankle weight wrapped around the front of the stroller. I got the Mac Universal Organizer which works great for me. Has two neoprene cup holders, a small pocket, and a velcro closure large mesh pocket. I keep diaper supplies and raingear in the basket, snacks in the organizer, and hang a backpack from the handles which holds our valuables (and goes wherever we go).

My kids (18 mos, & 5 yrs) are both tall (always in the high 90's %ile) and the height has never been an issue with the Quest. The other plus with Macs is the weight limit is 55 lbs. My 5 yr old can still use it! The Quest is a breeze to push (even one handed), &is lightweight. A shoulder strap would be nice, but mine does have a carry handle on the side.

I've been trying to decide which stroller to bring with us to Disney for our DS (he'll be 17 mo when we go in May). Very difficult decision because I want a stroller that will be easy to use with disney transportation but also something that will be useful at home too.
I don't own any Macs so I can't comment on which to choose but I thought you might find the customer service at http://www.letsgostrolling.com/ helpful. They offer free stroller consultations via phone and/or internet.
Good Luck & be sure to let us know what you've decided on!

I have bought two Maclaren's since September. I first bought the Techno XT and found it to be very comfortable and had extra cushioning and head rest for a baby. It did everything, including the wheels falling off on our third day at MGM. We returned it for a full refund.

I just bought the triumph for this trip and loved it. I bought lime green and could always see which stroller was ours. It does recline but the seat is just fabric. I have toddler and it wasn't an issue. The netting basket is nice and gives enough to fit a bag with extra clothes in it. Then we squeezed water bottles on top of that. We reclined when DS fell asleep in the afternoon and he as happy.

The best is that it folded up easy and has a carry strap so I could put the folded stroller on my shoulder and hold DS hand to get on and off the bus.

I love the triumph over the techno. For a baby I think the Techno would have been better but for toddler, Triumph.

I just bought the Quest Sport and love it so far. It reclines and came with a basket and rain cover. I got an organizer from Target for more storage options. It is so comfortable to push, even for someone taller. I also like that DS can use it for a while as it goes to 55lbs. I got a great deal on ebay for it for our Disneyland trip next month. HTH

We've got the Triumph, in lime green too, I have to admit it's great to be able to find the stroller. :) I LOVE that stroller. I wish I had known more about them when we were looking for our first stroller, I'd have gotten it in a heartbeat.

I can't say enough fantastic things about it.

We have a Mac Quest and absolutely love it.

That basket holds a lot more than anyone can imagine, but you have to have some order in it, what it doesn´t hold is a diaper bag per se. What I do is bring a canvas bag with whatever we need, and as soon as I am off the car/bus/tram, depending on the kind of transportation I am using, I will take everything out of the canvas bag and put it under the stroller, fold the tote bag and this helps a lot with the tippiness of the stroller.

I too have the Maclaren organizer for drinks, park maps, wipes, and will hang my bagallini on the handles when pushing the stroller.

Pushes like a breeze, and even with my bad back I have never had any trouble pushing it for a full day at Disney.

We have a Mac Quest, Triumph, and twinn traveler. (yes, my name is Kelly and I am a stroller addict, no but seriously I have 4 kids;)) The only differences between the triumph and Quest is that on the Quest there is a pocket on the hood, an extendable leg rest, larger wheels, and it reclines to more positions. I really love the Quest and Triumph equally because none of those things are really big deals to me. If cost is part of the equation then just get the triumph, I promise you will love it. If not, then splurge and get the one with all the bells and whistles. I promise you, you can't go wrong with a mac. Those things drive like a dream.

I have a Triumph. Bright pink. Bought it last year for my almost 3 yo DD. First time we really used it was our trip to WDW last Sept.

That stroller is like heaven. DD loves to climb in and I don't fight with her to stay in it. It took DH a little bit of convincing to spend the extra money on a McClaren, but he finally agreed.

Funny story" We were waiting for the elevator at the BWV. When it came 3 families got in all had toddlers in Mac Triumphs, different colors. The one mom commented, wow this must be the MacClaren lovers elevator. DH goes on and on about how light it is, easy to steer, easy to fold and worth the money. The other 2 families got off before us and I just stared at him, like who are you and where is my husband. He laughed and said, You converted me.

We have a Triumph and also love it. The carrying strap alone makes me love it more than the other Macs (Volo has a strap too) - it is so great to sling it over your shoulder :)

One thing to help with tippiness is the Skip Hop Saddlebag. Now that DS is potty trained we left the Duo at home and brought a Saddlebag on this most recent trip. It was awesome! I think I would have gone with two of these and not bring the Duo in the past. We have a CarryYou Demi Milan for our drinks, keys, etc. The Saddlebag allowed for a place for DS to put a drink as well as a pretty decent amount of cargo space (we fit our ponchos, the rain cover for the Mac, a fold-up potty seat, some snacks and juice pouches, and some Wet-ones in it). Since all of that weight was towards the front and down low there was no problem with tippiness. We were also able to fold it with the Saddlebag on it.

I have a Quest Mod for my DD that I absolutely LOVE!!!! I have this Rose color with bright pink and light pink colored circles on it and I can tell you that I RARELY see ANYONE with this stroller! It is so easy to pick it out of a crowd! It is the best stroller I have ever owned and my very first Maclaren. I wish I had known just how great Macs were when my DS was born! WHO KNEW? This stroller pushes like a DREAM. It has many sleep positions, and it lies ALMOST flat. PERFECT for naps!!! I bought a Maclaren Organizer that just stays on the handles at all times. It has 2 cup holders on it but BEWARE...don't use it for drinks that will spill! I use it for sippy cups and water or soda bottles that have a cap. Fountain sodas? NO WAY...they will spill, so just be careful. The basket is a decent size...a HUGE diaper bag won't fit down there, but that's no big deal. I have the Skip Hop Duo that I hang on the handles. Yes, it can make the stroller tippy if you take the baby out. But it just becomes second nature to just take the diaper bag off the handles, THEN take baby out. No big deal, really.

I also have the Twin Techno that I LOVE!!! I use it when I go to the mall and of course, trips to WDW. My son is 5 and still loves it.

Bottom line, I don't think you can go wrong with ANY Maclaren. Just be advised that the VOLO is the one that does not recline and the seat is made out of mesh.
