So I am scared that a lot of the flowers I really like are all out of season in January. Does anyone know what is in season then?

Peonies are out, but we had:

orchids
Garden roses (very ruffly...like peonies in a way)
Gardenias
and of course, regular roses

Amaryllis, anemones, asters, calla lilies, daffodils, freesia, garden roses, orchids, roses, lilies, tulips, carnations, delphinium, bells of Ireland, gladiola... There's quite a bit. :P A lot of bulbs that you would normally see in spring can be forced out early, like tulips, etc.

Thanks for the list of flowers - its gives me something to work from! It's so early I don't know why I can't stop thinking about this sort of stuff. I really wanted peonies :sad2: but garden roses could be just as nice.

Thank you!

You could look at using silks. If there is a flower you love. A lot of time florists can get flowers that are out of season, but it'll cost a lot.

I also found this: from:
Flowers Blooming in Winter are: http://www.theflowerexpert.com/content/growingflowers/flowers-and-seasons

Acashia, Alstromeria, Amaryllis, Carnation, Chrysanthemums, Cyclamen, Evergreens, Gerbera Daisy, Ginger, Helleborus, Holly berry, Lily, Asiatic Lily, Casa Blanca Lily, Narcissus, Orchid, Pansy, Pepperberry, Phlox, Protea, Queen Ann's Lace, Roses, Star of Bethlehem, Statice.

The Garden roses are in the upper right corner (with sort of a yellow tinge) and right below the gardenia. They don't have as big of heads as peonies...but they have the ruffles!
