We will be staying there in mid May and was just wondering some things:

Which tower is best (in your opinion) and why?

Which floor is best and what were there benefits of that floor?

Thanks everyone for there input.

:wizard: I'm giving this thread a bump. As I want to know the answer too. We're staying at the DLH in June.

I think it depends on your travel preference. For us, if we are in a standard room we like to be in the lobby hotel on a high floor directed toward the park. That way we can see the fireworks. Otherwise I like to overlook the pool from a high floor. On the other, if you like to get things done fast, then lower levels are helpful because of elevator access. I would never pay more for a higher level and if they are not full, usually you can ask for a higher level and they will adjust your room when you get there. I try to not stay in the Bonita tower, which I'm not sure what the name is now, because you are either looking over the parking lot or if you are on a lower floor, the trees block your view.
I hope that you figure out what will work out for you.

would they be full in mid May?? Thanks for the tips.

We like the Dreams Tower. It is in the middle. One side faces DTD and the other faces the Neverland Pool. The higher the floor, the better. These rooms are newer and bigger, too. Usually they are "view" rooms and cost more, but if the hotel has plenty of vacancy, they will put you in one. It never hurts to ask, we have been upgraded (for free) but just this last trip were told they were sold out so we were stuck with our "standard" room in the the Wonder Tower overlooking the parking lot. I still love staying here, though, no matter which room we get.:)

Now, when you ask for an upgrade....how do you ask? Is it just understood when you ask that you are asking for it for FREE? Thanks for the tips.

My favorite is the Dreams Tower also, followed closely by the Magic Tower (main lobby tower). I avoid the Wonder Tower (Bonita, as mentioned above). It feels to me like you've been put out back in the MIL unit :lmao: It's (relatively) far from everything in the hotel and farthest when walking into the park. The elevators are SLOW, or were on our 2 stays. However, there are some nice waterfalls and koi ponds directly in front which are pretty.

The Magic Tower is very convenient because an elevator ride takes you down to dining, gift shops, guest services, etc. On the pool side, you have lovely views from basically any floor. On the other side, you can see the fireworks though the view itself isn't that great.

The Dreams Tower is my favorite because there isn't a bad view (I don't think) and it's so close to DTD. The walk into the parks is just a straight shot and the monorail is right there. It's easy to get to everything from the Dreams Tower. You can get a standard room in Dreams, but there are fewer because they're only the ones that have a blocked view due to being lower down or maybe on a far corner. If you get a view room in Dreams Tower, be careful of the 7th floor because the palm trees often block your view! We had a corner room on the 7th floor and it was really cool, even though there was a palm tree in the way. WE could see the Mickey Sorcerer's hat right out of our side window (corner rooms have a small side window). We reserved a standard room and requested Dreams but were given a room in Magic. We asked if there was anything in Dreams and were told no. That was ok until we saw the room! It was DINKY!! Only large enough for a double bed! We went back to the desk and requested the room we'd booked (from a different CM). They moved us to a king suite in Dreams :cool1:

They're used to being asked about upgrades and they know you mean free upgrade. :goodvibes It never hurts to ask. The worst that can happen is they say no. I don't necessarily believe the desk CMs, though, because I think they often tell you the place is booked to avert requests for change. I've never gone when they haven't told me it was booked. However, I've been able to move twice when my room wasn't ok so I'm guessing it's a standard line to say they're booked.

Actually there are a couple good things about the Wonder Tower, especially is you are booking 2 rooms.

There is "lock off" set of rooms on the ends - this means you go through an additional door to get to your room door. If you have rented both rooms, you use that door as the main room door and leave the others open to make the rooms connecting. (One is usually a king suite with pull-out sofa and "living room" with breakfast bar and the other is a 2 bed standard room.)

The ones on the East side of the tower have perfect fireworks views.

My favorite thing about Wonder - going to sleep listening to the waterfalls with the "balcony" screen door cracked... So soothing!!!!

I learned somthing this past trip...

Rooms in the Magic tower are queens...rooms in the Dream tower are doubles...something to think about if you pack the kiddos in!!!

Also, they are re-doing the rooms in the magic first...then the dream tower

Does that mean new beds???? I read one review that she said she felt the springs in the bed at DLH.

Maybe my memory isn't so good. But I thought we had queen beds in Dreams (the building closest to DTD), and we've stayed there 4 times (I think).

Everytime, I and my family has stayed in Dreams tower, the rooms have two queens. Some rooms also have king beds as well - one king bed per room.
Rooms with doubles are limited at the hotel.

We just stayed in the Magic Tower a couple of weeks ago. I would request the Dreams or Wonder tower. The Magic tower had a significant plumbing problem, the main water pumps were not working properly so the water temperature fluctuated randomly...and the water was actually shut off completely for a while during our stay. Not good.

Just my 2 cents :)

Have a great trip :flower3:

We've always had 2 queens in Dreams except the last time when my sis and I got a king suite. I don't think they have more than a few rooms with doubles--a CM told me the vast majority of the rooms at dlh are 2Q + daybed.

I'm sure that's accurate. We've stayed in all three towers and have always gotten the 2Q + daybed setup.

All I know is this is what they told me when I checked in on Thursday..3 days ago....maybe it was just that that was all that was available...but the way he said it, led me to believe this was true because he offered me 4 different options.

So how were the beds? comfy...springs poking through... what??? How was your view?

Oh I thought they were great...really the doubles we were in seemed big to me, but double!

I was so worried they would be old, but they were comfy!

I am going to have a hard time EVER staying anywhere else. I loved every minute of the DLH!!!
