Which fireworks show?

My suggestion... Stay at the Polynesian (or GF or CR) a few nights and you can see the "Wishes" from the beach/pool every night. Then move to BC (or any Epcot resort) and watch the Illumination from your resort. Then you can go see Fantasmic at MGM!

We love all of the night shows. I just wanted to tell you, though, that you may want to consider the show schedules when planning which ones to attend. On our recent trip in the spring, we made it to Spectromagic and Wishes one night, but it took days for our kids to recover from being up so late.

For our upcoming Dec. trip, I'm hoping to take the kids to Spectromagic, Wishes, and Fantasmic which have traditionally been at reasonable times in the winter months. But my understanding is that Illuminations is shown at 9:30 p.m. during the winter -- too late for my young children.

Also, due to MVMCP, Wishes is only shown to the general public on certain days (non-MVMCP days), so there is only one day during our trip when we could see Spectromagic and Wishes during our upcoming trip. And, due to Pop Warner, MGM is scheduled to close early on the Friday of our trip, so in all likelihood, we wouldn't be able to see Fantasmic on Friday. Also, I try to schedule late nights/early mornings away from each other, so we may be lucky to make it to just Fantasmic or just Spectromagic/Wishes.

I hope this helps!

Illuminations, no question. But Wishes is an extremely close second now! Sometimes you can hop off-season and see Wishes and Illuminations in the same night. I'm not much of a Fantasmic fan.

Definately Wishes/Spectromagic!!! :wizard:

I'm getting goose-bumps just thinking about it!

I would say wishes...
Illuminations may be too loud
Fantasmic is more of a show rather than fireworks, there arent that many.

I would choose Illuminations because the story will appeal to the older members of your party and you have the fireworks for the younger ones. A close second would be Wishes/Spectromagic. This parade especially is magical for children. I love Wishes too I'm just partial to Illuminations.

Should have made this a poll . . . but anyway, if anybody is following along with this and wants the totals, I make it:

Wishes 12 (with several suggestions to combine it with Spectromagic)
Fantasmic 5
Illuminations 5
All of them 2

Plus one suggestion that we "resort-hop" and watch two of them from our hotel rooms. No offense, Fantasia, but if YOU want to pay for us to stay at the Polynesian, Paypal stands at the ready! :rotfl:

For those who asked, we're going the first week of November. We'll probably do Spectro/Wishes for the one late night the kids will tolerate. Thanks all!
