If you could only see one, would you go to Wishes, Fantasmic, or IllumiNations? And would it be worth park-hopping just to do Fantasmic?

If it matters, we'll be a party of six - Nana and Papa, in their late sixties; two girls, 6 and 4; and two overworked lawyers in their forties. DD4 likes to watch fireworks but doesn't much care for the loud noise; DD6 would sit in the middle of them as they went off if we'd let her. :earseek:

i'd go to wishes . i thought it was much better than fantasmic plus fantasmic could be scary since you are "closer to the action" if your youngest doesn't like loud noises ( it's not particularly loud for that kind of show as i remember but you are closer.

If you can get the Wishes cruise, it is a really neat way to see them.

Wishes first then Illuminations. Don't miss either!

You don't say when you are going to be at WDW. If you are going to be there during the fall/winter, you may be able to see two sets of fireworks in one evening. My daughter and I have been able to see SpectroMagic and Wishes at MK and then, using the monorail, made it to Epcot in time to see Illuminations as well. Same goes for Fantasmic - except that you have to be first on the Friendship to make it to Epcot by way of International Gateway to catch Illuminations. This can be accomplished only when Fantasmic is at 7 pm and SpecroMagic/Wishes are at 7 or 8 pm. And YES, you do have to walk really, really fast or run in order to make it, but it can be done! Hope this makes sense. Have fun whatever you decide!!

You have to see Wishes, Hands down!

That's coming from someone who loved Illuminations most before Wishes came along and from my wife who used to love Fantasmic most before Wishes came along.

If you have never seen the shows before, Fantasmic IS worth hopping to.

Forgive me for being ignorant on the subject. Based on what i've read about Illuminations and Fantasmic, they sound like they would be great but isn't Wishes just a glorified fireworks show put to music? We'll be going in December and we're planning on the first two but perhaps we might also go to Wishes.

Wow. What a tough question. My favorite of the three Fantasmic but, if I could choose only one for a newbie, I guess I'd choose Illuminations. I feel the most unity with everyone in the park and as a resident of the earth when I watch Illuminations. Wishes is a wonderful show but, its fireworks and music only. The other two offer more. Any of the three will leave ya' sayin' "WOW"!

well guess you could say that but then by that line of reasoning wdw is just a glorified carnival so you might as well stay home and go to your local fair ;)
:rotfl:

I vote for Wishes/Spectromagic first, followed by Fantasmic. Illuminations used to be a favorite of mine, but the last couple times we were not as impressed with the new show. This is just our own personal opinion... I loved Wishes so much I had to get the soundtrack, though!!!

All three of them are excellent! For myself and my wife we would see Illuminations every night but we enjoy the others too. For your daughters age group I would take them to see Fantasmic for sure. It has some princess moments that always delights the girls and the shows presentation (without giving anything away) will impress the grandparents! HTH

Good Luck, you can't go wrong with any of the three.

(you may also want to post this as a poll)

Fantasmic!!! We just got back and it was the best show we saw.

My DD3 does not like loud noises either, but she was completely capitivated by this show! She was never scared. Yes the villains are in this show, but if your kids watch the movies with the villains, then they should be fine. Just do not sit close to the water. We sat middle right in the reserved section for the Fantasmic Dining Package.

Let your children decide what is scary and what is not. I thought about not letting her go to things people said were scary. I was glad I changed my mind. She got to enjoy more rides and shows.

Enjoy your trip!

I would definately hop for fantasmic. I absolutely loved all the shows so it is really hard to choose. I really really loved fantasmic. Wishes was great too, it's more like never ending fireworks and nothing like anything you would see local at a forth of july show. Also being there looking up at the castle and the beautiful fireworks really feels like Disney. KWIM. My dds were so impressed when tink came down from the castle. I videotaped wishes for my niece and nephew because they have never been to Disney and there parents had to cancel last minute for financial reasons. They could not believe how long they were. If I really had to choose I would pick these over illuminations but that's only if I had no choice but to choose.

Well you could say that about any of them but to "non-technically" answer your question "no".

Wishes is the most amazing show. The soundtrack puts you in the Disney mood and the fireworks are very fantasy like. If you dont care about the Disney atmosphere then it may just be boring but I dont know how that could be.

It is amazing and you can take your own opinions to make your decisions but as someone who goes all of the time..........you are making a big mistake if you dont see Wishes and maybe Fantasmic.

IMHO, "Wishes" is 25 minutes of spectacular, continuous, beautifully choreographed fireworks unlike any others I've seen (and I've seen a lot). If you can see it in combination with Spectromagic, that's my idea of a perfect evening. I like the other two very much, but this is always my choice when I must choose.

Ummmmmmm.............no, it's not.

When my family went to Disney, my non-Disney brother, wanted to know why we had to see so fireworks. He said you can see fireworks anywhere. I told him fireworks at Disney are NOT just fireworks and for him to just trust me........

The thing is Wishes is far from a glorified fireworks set to music and I think today my cynical brother MIGHT listen to his Wishes CD more than I do! :goodvibes

Wishes is my favorite show at Disney, in fact it might be my favorite thing at Disney period. If you haven't seen you owe it to yourself. Trust me.
