Which Fireworks: Illuminations or Stars Wars Galactic Spectacular?

Which park should we end up in, on our last day?

On our fourth and last day of our trip, we will be park hopping HS to Epcot or Epcot to HS. Which park has the best fireworks. It seems everyone raves about Illuminations, but are the new HS fireworks better?

Earlier in our trip we will see Hallowishes from the Poly beach. Other than that, this will be our only fireworks experience.

I have only watched from one place...the intersection of Hollywood and Sunset and that view was great. I have heard that over by the dinosaur was a good view also.

Both shows are on youtube so you might want to check them out. ALSO note that the Star Wars show will change this June adding projection and laser effects but the rumor is that the number/size of the fireworks will be scaled back somewhat.

I like both but Illuminations is more "subdued" compared to the Star Wars fireworks.

It looks like Fantasmic lets out just before the fireworks begin. So you would be able to see both!

However, I can attest that after having just returned, the current Star Wars fireworks are by far the best fireworks show WDW has right now (in my opinion anyway). We did the dessert party which is right in the center in front of Center Stage, and our view was excellent.

It will be interesting to see how much it changes...if it doesn't change much, it sounds like this is the show to see. And the dessert party sounds wonderful--a great way to end our trip!

Is the location of where the Star Wars fireworks are shot from changing with the new show? It's my understanding that they were building (well, I guess prepping and leveling might be a better description) a new launch space for the new fireworks at Hollywood Studios in anticipation of having a more permanent fireworks show. So, I'm wondering a couple of things: 1). Will the viewing areas change a bit, and 2). Will they no longer have to close Pixar Place for fireworks at HD? Does anyone know any of this?

i'd say the Star wars. My friend returned recently and the entire family stated that it was the BEST fireworks ever....better than Wishes, better the Epcot's.

While I can't compare the two shows yet, for those that do end up watching Illuminations at Epcot I was able to see the star wars fireworks in my same spot. I watched from the walkway connecting world showcase and future world - middle. at least for now when there's still quite a bit of fireworks. My mom was just fine seeing what we had from where we sat, as an option who don't have a park hopper and weren't planning to go to HS.
