We are going in September with free dining and I'm trying to talk my DH in to trying one of the 2 TS credit places but I'm not sure which one would be the best with our 5 year old in tow. I thought Jiko or Yachtsman looked good for us because they had filet and/or salmon on the kid's menus which are my DD's favorites.

Yachtsman was nice but we had an off night due to bad service. The food was very nice though. The kids menus are pretty much the same all over with a few exceptions though. Hollywood Brown Derby is also a very nice one.

Went to Cindy's last year, before it turned to a 2 TS meal. The food was good and the service was great. My husband had the Pork Tenderloin and said it was great. My son had the Prime Rib and loved it. I had the Salmon and it was great. My daughter had the Roast Chicken and I tasted it (we both thought it was also great.) My grandson loved that he was eating at the castle and Cindy was in the lobby, sitting in a chair for picture taking. We have a picture of Cindy kissing grandson on the cheek and a pic of his lipstick stained cheek... He was in his glory when we were leaving the meal and Cindy was still there and she called out to him "Good Night my prince!!!!! I know they changed things around on the food choices and such and that it isn't 2 TS any longer but I think it's still a pretty good deal. And I think it's great for kids.

We'll be in the world in Sept also. For my son's 5th birthday, we'll be taking him to the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review. It's a 2 TS creds a person all you can eat dinner show. Everywhere I read folks rave over it. Sounds like fun to me. We'll be there on the 24th, join us if you like. :teeth:

I agree with the Hoop de Doo. We took my 4 yr old dgd and 2 22 yr old and 1 70 yr old and ourselves 49, we all had a great time. I think you will enjoy the Hoop :sunny:

We haven't been but have been advised by members here as well as the concierge at the AKL that the Hoop Dee Doo Revue is the place to take kids that age. We have a son, so he isn't interested in dining with Cindy or any other "girls". check out some of the reviews on it.

Sorry I was thinking more along the lines of fine dining so I'll change the title on my post.

Double post on that one, DIS seems to be experiencing server problems.

Fine Dining with a 5 y/o? Hmmmm...
About the only place I can think of would be Cinderella's Royal Table.

We are already doing dinners at PSB, CP and CM so I want to find one dinner to take my DD to that isn't just geared towards kids and kids at heart. We do periodically subject her to fine dining places at home so that she will learn to appreciate the food and the experience.

Go for the Yachtsman then, it is a wonderful place and you son will probably enjoy it. The food is outstanding. We sat near a window and could see the lighthouse from our table, it was great. :sunny:

The steak on the kid's menu at Flying Fish is pretty good (I tried a bite off of DS's plate). My kids like the open kitchen there--lots of action to keep them occupied.

We're taking our kids (8 & 5) to Artist Point in October, because we're staying at the WL. It has a good kids' menu. Later in the week, the kids will stay at the Sandcastle Club for a couple of hours while DH & I have a "date" at Yachtsman Steakhouse. We haven't eaten at either of these yet, but I've read rave reviews on AP, and mostly good reviews on YS. Whatever you decide, hope you enjoy!

MNSSHP is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party which runs from mid September until Halloween and is a lot of fun.
