We usually travel with P&O Dover to Calais. We have checked the sites and found.....

Norfolkline Dover to Dunkerque is £35 cheaper

LD Lines Dover to Boulogne £25 cheaper

Sea France Dover to Calais is £10 cheaper

.......for the times and dates we want to travel, I have a couple of questions.

Has anyone travelled with Norfolkline, LD Lines or Sea France and how do their ferries compare in quality to P&O?

What are the routes from Dunkerque and Boulogne to DLRP like? (I know the Bolougne route meets the Calais route quite quickly)

Are the ports at Dunkerque and Boulogne as easily accessible as Calais?

Hopefully some of you wonderful people can help me before I book!

Hi,

We normally use Sea France whenever possible - far quieter! And if cheaper as suggested, a bonus! Of course French orientated but for us just adds to the whole.

If you get the Rodin or Berliotz Seafrance ferries they are far better, newer & more spacious then P&O. We tend to use them now instead of P&O.

I use whichever is cheapest on the Dover - Calais route. After all, the crossing is only 1.5hrs long.

OMG Norfolk line is the best ferry operator by miles and miles and miles.

The ferry's are lovely and they have so much room on them.

The ferry time is slightly longer at 2hours but the journey to DLRP is just as easy. I really cannot recommend them highly enough.

Oh and one more plus is that with Norfolkline you can catch the ferry before or after the one you have booked on without any surcharge :thumbsup2
