Our first WDW TS was back in 1998 so we haven't been doing it too long. I wish we would have eaten at the sound stage restaurant that was in MGM before it closed. I've read some fun stuff about those character meals.

And the other, right this second I cannot remember the name of it...the boat that had the Mickey breakfast at downtown Disney. Help you guys. My brain is not working! THAT one would have been a blast too!

Technically we don't "miss" these but I sure would have liked to have tried them! If anyone has old pictures from the retired restaurants please share!

I miss the original CS restaurant in Fort Wilderness. This was back before the Trail's End buffet. The restaurant had great burgers that we washed down with sarsaparilla after a day at River Country. I really miss those days.

It's not really a restaurant, but we will miss the Beaver Tails at the stand in front of Canada (haven't been back since we heard they got rid of them). Those were the BEST, a piece of dough hand shaped into a flat "beaver tail", then fried, and then your choice of toppings. We loved the sugar dipped and squeezed with fresh lemon juice one. My DH is most upset they don't have these anymore.

That sounds delicious! Would have made a good snack credit! popcorn::

Tangaroa Terrace at the Poly. It was our favorite breakfast place!

I miss Bonfamilles. This was the TS at PO French Quarters. It was a small and quiet place to get a good meal. We use to do breakfast and dinners there.

Top of the World at the Contemporary.....great ice cream pie and a fabulous breakfast buffet! :goodvibes

I miss Bonfamilles, we loved breakfast and dinner there. It was nice, quiet and the food was good.

The old Top of the World was a great Sunday brunch as well.

It just seems like most of the resort restuarants have the same menu now. There is very little diversity.

I think you're referring to the "Empress Lily" Riverboat restaurant. We had a character breakfast there in 1983 when I was 8 years old. Goofy "ate" my head, I'll never forget it! Of course, I can't remember what the food was like though.

I second Tangora Terrace. They had the BEST breakfast buffet. We used to do it at least twice every trip. My mom and I loved their waffle bar with all the toppings and that yummy vanilla sauce!

We used to do the dinner show at Top of the World when I was a kid. I remember my dad would always take me over to the bar and get me a Shirley Temple and we'd be dressed up and I would always feel so special.

As far as CS, we always enjoyed "Odyssey" at Epcot. I know they still use the building for special events during F&W. The toppings bar beat everything else around.

When it came to TS it would have to be "Fireworks Factory" at DTD. The ribs were excellent and the tollhouse cookie dessert would satisfy my large sweet tooth.:rotfl: :rotfl:

Fireworks Factory was excellent-hated to see it go and never come back.

I also loved Tangaroa Terrace! I remember the kids menu-it was Goofy's face with a piece of bacon for the mouth and eggs for the eyes. The best part was that the menu turned into glasses and you could wear them. :rotfl:

The old Tusker House was counter service and it was wonderful. Not your typical burgers and fries. They had a wonderful chicken sandwich. However, it was the half chicken, garlic mashed potatoes and green beans that kept us hooked. YES, THEY HAD REAL VEGETABLES AT A COUNTER SERVICE!!!!!!!!:rotfl2: This summer we will be trying the new Tusker House (Table Service). I know that Animal Kingdom really needed to vamp up their table food choices, but I was sad to see my favorite counter service take the hit. Well, as long as they leave Flame Tree BBQ alone, I guess we will survive!!!

I miss Breakfast at Tony's! Fab coffee and they brought a huge cinnamon roll to the table while you waited for the rest of your food. A nice relaxing way to get the day at MK started.

The Fireworks Factory had the best hot wings I've ever eaten. I really miss them.

I also miss the original Chef Mickey's at DTD. It was such a nice place to have lunch while shopping.

Chef Mickey's at DTD was so good. Chef Mickey would come wall around it was a nice way to Mickey but less mayhem then a Charater Meal.

I agree about Chef Mickeys at DTD. It was alot more calm than the CM of today at the CR. We have some wonderful pictures of my DS with Mickey and they are so different than now. If everyone loved the Beaver tails in Canada, why do they take stands away that sell what people want? I would love to try one!:thumbsup2

I miss the old Tusker House CS also... but most of all, I miss Alfredo Di Roma... the best fettucini alfredo I have ever had... yummy! so sad... :(
