Personally, I'd go with Tokyo's Dreamlights parade. I wasn't a big fan of the original MSEP, but this updated version simply looks AMAZING on the pictures I have seen of it.

I haven’t seen any picture of it (link please) so I won't vote yet. I know you said you weren’t, but I am a HUGE fan of the MSEP!! I LOVE it. Spectro’s all right, by give me the Baroque Hoe-down any day of the week. So the music plays a very important part of the magic for me. What is the Tokyo one like. What music do they use?

Thanks for the links WDWGuide.

I voted for Dreamlights! Wow, it does look amazing. Why does Tokyo get all the cool stuff!

No fair, only one I've seen in person is SPECTRO.
How can I choose?
Now I'll just have to go to TDL so I can vote!

I don't know anything about the Tokyo PArades, but I have Lightmagic's music on one of my Disneyland/WDW CDs and I must say it is beautiful. The parade must have been horrid for this to not be a classic.

I too will now be surfing.

One of the biggest problems with Light Magic was it wasn't a parade. It was 3 stages, and there were 2 performances. Imagine the parade corridor in the MK. Think of how many people line the street from Frontierland, through Liberty Square, down Main Street.

Now imagine trying to fit all those people just in the section in front of Pecos Bill's and on the MS corridor? And imagine that if you're on the right end, you're not going to be able to see the action on the left end and vice-versa. And it's not like the floats are going to move and perform the same routine 5 minutes later.

How many complaints do you think you're gonna get from people who couldn't see?

Ah, I had no idea that it wasn't a parade.

That was another problem, it was billed as a "Streetacular" of course no one knew what that meant, and Disney didn't try to educate anyone either.

Main Street Electrical Parade is by far my favorite (maybe because I grew up with it). When I saw it at California Adventure it was quite an experience. The crowd was so much more into it than at WDW. GO ELP!!

I love Spectromagic, and hopefully one day, I will see it from beginning to end...lol! On the otherhand, I am not fond of the Main St Electrical Light Parade. Can't stand the music!

Spectromagic parade holds a special place in my heart. That is a great parade!:bounce: The music is perfect. They should keep that for a long time. I would like to see Dreamlights too. The detail and quality is incredible.

I know, I thought the same thing...until I saw the pictures. It was like a Truman Capote acid trip. I talked to a few of my CA friends & even the non-Disney freaks refered to it as "Night Tragic". By all accounts it was a bad production & instead of a refurb, they opted to scrap it all together, if that tells you anything.

To be fair, MSEP is an impossible act to follow & the crowds for the last MSEP run at DL was packed for that very occasion.

I'll check out the links. MSEP is my fave & while Spectro is nice, it's not the must see that MSEP is. But then again, pretty much everything at DL is better than MK anyway. ;)
