Which Embassy Suites?

We're going to Disneyland for 3 days next month and I've already booked the Embassy Suites South in Garden Grove, but I've been reading reviews about the Embassy North and now I'm thinking of switching.

North is cheaper and has a free shuttle to DL, but from reading reviews, South seems to have a lot more around it.

We've been many times to WDW and always stay on-site so we're used to taking the buses to the parks. I don't know if we'll get a rental car or not.

Six years ago we stayed at HoJo and that was fine, but it's booked up for our dates and DD9 loved the Embassy we stayed at in Ft. Lauderdale, so I've narrowed it down to these two.

Any opinions?

Thanks!

I've only stayed at South but I can tell you we were VERY happy there.:thumbsup2

We've stayed at South a couple of times and have been very happy with it. They have the ART shuttle available for a very reasonable cost. They shuttle was always on time for us.

We've stayed at both and prefer South. It is in a much better location. :)

See the link in my sig to see pictures of Embassy Suites South. Haven't been to other one, but we loved this one!

So far it's unanimous for the South. Maybe I should stop second guessing myself. I was hoping not to do so much planning for this trip - it seems easy compared to WDW. I just want to go and not have to think about where and when we'll eat, which fastpasses to get, etc. It gives me a headache :headache: sometimes.:goodvibes But in a good way.

One plus for the South is they have Bucca di Beppo right there. That's one of DD9's favorite restaurants.:thumbsup2

Alright, I'll be the different opinion.

We stayed at the Embassy Suites South 2 weeks ago. For us, it was just OK. We've stayed at quite a few ES and this one didn't live up to any of the others.

There was the free breakfast but the cook was rude, it was very busy and the selection wasn't as great as other ES.

For the manager's reception, the alcoholic drinks were *very* watered down and limited. And the snacks were just popcorn and a nut mix. I'm use to cheese, crackers, fruit, etc and decent drinks.

The pool area was small and again, just OK.

Decor is a bit dated and very, well....safari-ish which was a bit strange.

So nothing horrible, just didn't live up to our expectations as compared to other ES.

The ART does pick up right in front and was quite easy to use.

Was there an "old" Embassy suites at one point, maybe 10 or more years ago? My bf always talks about his stays there when he was younger, but swears it changed over. I'm not familiar enough with them to know their history. Does anyone know?
