Which DVC to stay in early December?

We are planning our second trip of renting points for Dec 2005. Probably right after Thanksgiving/1st week of December as I have never been there during the holidays and that will be my dd's last year before Kindergarten.

We rented points for a 1 bdrm in OKW this past Sept and LOVED IT. I can't even imagine doing a hotel room again. We are considering becoming members but want to do one more "rental" elsewhere and maybe check a few of the DVC places out. I have walked thru Boardwalk (as I love that area) but have never really seen any of the other places.

I know December isn't as light as Sept and I know there will be some crowds. I am fine with that. I am just curious what tends to be lighter - the week right after Thanksgiving or the second week after. We are going to try and do only 5 nights (so we can do a 4 night disney cruise too) and base it around one of the MVMCP. Also what DVC resort do you recommend for DH, myself and a 4 yr old that LOVES anything christmas.

Thanks in advance!!

Suzanne

I would suggest the VWL because you can take a boat to the MK for the MVMCP, and it's beautifully decorated for Christmas.

BWV's and BCV's lobbies each have wonderful Christmas Displays in Chocolate, so I think they are worth a visit, but the VWL is where I would want to stay for my Christmas visit, and we are, Dec. 10-14.

The weeks you mention are high interest weeks for DVC'ers, and we made our ressies 11 months out, so whatever you decide, I think you should get something together before too long.

They are all great resorts. If you're that serious about buying, look at the descriptions and photos of all of them and pick the one that you feel is most likely to be the resort you want to buy. Might as well try before you buy.

Saratoga Springs is the resort they are selling now. So, if you want the convenience of a direct purchase or need Disney's 10-year financing, I'd stay there. If you're OK with going the resale route, just pick the one that you feel holds the most appeal to your family.

As bobbiwoz said, the entire period from Thanksgiving to New Year's is VERY popular with members. I would highly recommend starting the rental process now, particularly if you decide to stay at VWL or BCV. They are the smallest resorts and will fill up very, very early for the time period you are considering.

I agree with the previous poster. VWL would be wonderful at Christmas, but it is one of the smaller DVC resorts, so availability could already be quite limited for that very popular time for DVCers. The parks are not so crowded, but DVC books up fast the first 2 weeks of December. We were at OKW the first 10 days of December this year. It is one of our favorite times to be there. Our next trip will be a bit later...New Years Eve through the 10th of January.

For any stay during the Christmas season, I always recommend the Epcot resorts. For one thing, Epcot seems to have the most Christmas activities-the holiday storytellers, CP, last year there was a Christmas version of Illuminations. And don't forget you can walk over to MGM from there (at least from BWV-BCV may be a little long of a walk for your DD). Also, there's nothing more Christmasy to me than the Boardwalk during the Christmas season-all the pointsettas, the Christmas music, all the light poles wrapped in garland. It's the most beautiful area, I think. But to choose between BWV and BCV, I've stayed at both and liked both. Personnally, I much prefer BCV, just because I like the beachy theming better. But the most awesome view I've had in 20 hotel stays at WDW came from BWV-a 1 BR BW view. At either resort, you won't go wrong.
